Visited Eastbourne to catch up with a friend. Even though it was mid-winter, it was sunny and no wind so lovely and warm. Grabbed a coffee from “Chocolate Dayz” and walked along the beach. We then had pizza for lunch at the Pavillion Cafe across...More

If you like walking along the beach to hear the water and birds then take a walk along here. You can walk for many kilometres collecting rocks and shells. If you get tired walking on the sand there is a boardwalk that follows the beach.

One of the nicer beaches in Wellington as long as it is not too windy. Good for a sea swim, beach, sports grounds and cafes

When I lived in Wellington 20 years ago I never visited this place except in bad weather. It’s a lovely spot on a nice day. The wharf is great for jumping for the kids and you can kayak or SUP easily. Nice drive there too.

We used to come all the time when the girls were small. There's a pool and playground and then the beach. The beach itself is very stony but still a nice walk.Cute shops nearby. Nice afternoon.

Lovely view over the harbour to Wellington however the beach has many large pebbles which is a bit bothersome at first. Not usually crowded though which is a bonus!

This is a pleasant beach and township to visit when the weather is fine but it's very exposed when it's wet and windy.

We caught the ferry and bus to Eastbourne. A small village with an interesting but small antiques and curios shop. A couple of cafes. The beach such as it is could be described as picturesque with it's grey sand. Good bus connections to Lower Hutt...More
