This is a must see venue in Wellington. The museum is modern and holds some amazing artifacts. The Terracotta Solders were a highlight when we visited. The Anzac section is very moving and many people exited - with emotions not expected to be tested. What...More

The Te Papa museum is on the waterfront of Wellington City Centre. It is beautifully laid out inside. The back area that abuts a waterfront portion is also a wonderful portion of the city that is used by locals and tourists alike to walk, jog/run,...More

Enjoyed this museum as well as the observation deck and outdoor garden. Gives wonderful and educational information about Maori history, as well as many other aspects of NZ culture. Has play spaces for kids. And nice gift shop.

Great building with excellent permanent collections and travelling exhibitions. Don’t miss the story of NZ’s war and especially the horror of Gallipoli - the curation is fantastic. The usual high quality toilets, cafes and shops help make this a place to linger.

There is so much in this museum that my recommendation is to visit their web site, click on "Plan your visit", and look at a map of the museum. Then prioritize what you are most interested in. There is everything from the Gallipoli exhibit to...More

Good museum with lots of interesting exhibits but for me let down a little by poor signage. The exhibit for Gallipoli was excellent.

The Gallipoli exhibition was a particularly moving experience. Telling individual tales of young soldiers and what they had to endure so far from home. The over sized human exhibits were extraordinary powerful In capturing the suffering and conditions that they suffered. Other exhibits were comprehensive...More
