Amazing Maori carving and woven panels. Famous for the window depicting Christ walking on water. A living church loved by the locals. It has a long and interesting history. A donation towards the up keep is appreciated.

What a neat place, lovely old church and it was great to see something "real" rather than the tourist version of Rotorua. Highly recommend but do be aware that people actually live here, so be respectful.

An interesting little church which oozes peace and tranquility. The Picture of Jesus which shows as if he is walking on the lake is amazing and beautiful.

We loved our visit to the church. Coin donation is expected at the door, then you can go in and take many photos. The stained glass windows are beautiful, and there is an old waka to the right of the main entrance.

It's a lovely little church to view from the outside. You are strongly recommended to give a donation to go inside (which isn't a donation, to me). I get it, but just charge an admission fee. But, once inside, it is a pretty church to...More

i love going into this church. I can't help but think what it was like when it first went up. The beautiful maori carvings you just have to visit to see what i'm writing about.

it was raining, and we saw a demonstration of the hot underground, because from all the leaks, where the rain ran down came steam. It was spectacular - even more than the sight around town

If you come to Rotorua you must see this. I have been to Yellowstone in the U.S. and this ( on a much smaller scale ) was just as impressive. Geysers, boiling mud pots, boardwalks and viewpoints. Be prepared for the heavy smell of sulphur...More

We walked here to view the church not knowing that the hours it is open are 10-3 so we missed the inside but still worth visiting. The war cemetery for fallen Maori soldiers was overlooking the lake and so interesting to read the inscriptions. You...More
