The gardens are we kept with a stream flowing down into a pond. We sat and watched the birds, they do walk very close to you which is how it should be. Very peaceful and well worth a visit.

This botanic garden had several plants in bloom in October, such as Lenten rose, camellias, rhododendrons, azaleas, and lilies as well as a large number of other plant and tree specimens on site. Birds seen one morning included myna, sparrow, pieon, green finch, goldfinch, robin,...More

These gardens are another of Napiers little gems. We wandered in and the pond by the gates had little ducklings. There were budgies of all colours on view. The gardens are kept to a very high standard.

Nice place to relax and have a picnic. Interesting looking at the range of flowers and fauna. Lots of space for children to run around without disturbing the plants. Nice on a sunny day

Very nice botanical gardens, not the largest area, but well planned and maintained, make a nice trip out for a walk and slow travel

Beautiful gardens, well laid out. Smaller than I thought but still enjoyable. Lovely aviary with budgies. Cemetery next door is worth a visit. Really interesting history board with numbered grave sites of notable citizens.

We strolled through the gardens one hot January day and were very grateful for the shade offered by the lovely mature trees. There are several paths that meander through the gardens offering different views and fauna, unfortunately January is not a great month to see...More

The Botanic gardens established in 1855 are a great place to relax in the quiet of nature. Duck ponds, pigeon roosts and budgie aviaries are encompassed in some lovely flower beds and beautiful old trees. The seating in nice but the real attraction is the...More
