After photographing many of the lovely Art Deco buildings in Napier we went for a stroll through the gardens. Pleasant but not worth a special visit. However you will definitely see them anyway if you stroll around Napier centre and towards the sea.

Although not a very large area, it is a wonderful escape from the world. It is like a botanical garden with an unusual sculpture ( they say it is a lotus) . Relax, read a book, look at the variety of plants.

This gem in Napier is always displaying a great variety of flowers and colours. A great place to relax or sit and enjoy your lunch. Being lower than the surroundings, it's often still here, even windy days.

The Sunken Gardens are located along Marine Parade in the centre of Napier, it is easy to miss because of its very nature of being sunken. The gardens are colourful and quite tranquil and a nice diversion away from the busy promenade. Our visit to...More

Nice to look at but not very big. Nice shaded areas. Worth a look whilst passing. Several ‘gardens’ along the front
