This is a no-brainer and a must-see-attraction, every mid-March there is the Ballon-over-Waikato event on the area of Uni of Waikato. It is superb and very special! They 'glow' the balloons, accompanied by cool music. Isn't super long, like 20 minutes or even a bit...More

Waikato University is set on a stunning campus - great for walking around the lakes. This a well maintained campus that Waikato should be proud of.

Perhaps the most beautiful uni I’ve been on. Great landscapes, and 3 lakes to choose from when I’m enjoying a casual day out with my son.

We went to a graduation there and toured the campus. Lots of interesting landscapes and buildings. Our ceremony was bilingual and picturesque and lengthy and hot.

The university is not the most attractive architectural site, but the gardens, lake and little shops are ok for a visit. The balloon festival and cultural events are outstanding.

The campus is well designed and landscaped. Planted with many native plants. It has a beautiful lake next to the student union. Great place for photography. Parking can be an issue so prepare to come early or park on the main street.

The University is on a hill in a relatively suburban part of the city. It is not a large campus in terms of buildings but the buildings are diverse in their structure. The campus includes a large field area and unlike the vast majority of...More
