Went here with 4 friends. The ferry over is also a great part of the experience, great view around Auckland. When we arrived we rented bikes nearby the harbour. They gave us bikes and helmets and a map of the Island. We rode our bikes...More

Highly recommend for tourists and locals. Great wineries and restaurants. If you love swimming make sure you take your swimming gear. Lovely little town to walk about. Easy to get around with public transportation.

We visited for the day and took a lovely food and wine tour. The island is just stunning, we would have loved to stay longer. It's a quick and easy ferry ride from Auckland. Waiheke oysters are insanely delicious, be sure to try them.

We travel over by ferry, take the bus and go to Onetangi. Magic. The beach is beautiful, and the Boat Shed and Charlie Farlie restaurants are great.

Yes, absolutely. There is regular bus service but the Explorer hop-on/hop-off busses. But those only reach 1/3rd to ½ the island.
