We bumped into this small cinema by chance and it was a great surprise. The young american lady at the counter was very helpful and friendly. The place itself was comfy and cozy. The cinema rooms very small and homely like. Even at the front...More

This cinema has so much charm and we got to watch a film for just $5. There is a great atmosphere here and they sell delicious popcorn. They also have free drinking water and glasses which I think is great.

Arthouse cinema hidden away under Auckland Library probably has the best chocolate tops in Auckland. Programming is always interesting and intriguing and often controversial. Undeniably a hidden gem.

I saw 3 films at Academy Cinema over 3 days. I saw 'Marshland' an excellent retro police murder mystery set in the south of Spain in the late 1970s just after the end of the Franco fascist torture regime. Highly recommended. I also saw 'Legend'...More
