Excellent shows and displays with a chance to use the telescopes to see what’s out there. If you’re going by bus then arrive before dark as it was difficult to find when walking through the park to get there. The Observatory is not well lit...More

Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed your trip here. Keep looking up!
This was a very interesting presentation but due to the late start it wasn't really suitable for younger children. We took our 7yr old granddaughter and although she was very interested she fell asleep in the comfortable slightly reclined seats.

More a planetarium than an observatory. It's in Auckland so the light pollution makes any stars difficult to see. Boyfriend and I have been spoiled by some brilliant observatories, but we loved the animations and graphics of the planetarium! We learned so much about the...More

Hiya - thanks so much for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed seeing the southern skies! Keep looking up :)
Getting to the Stardome was quick and very easy. We got there early and walked around the few exhibits. They were informative even though they have seen better days. Then the presentation began and the value soared. The presentation was concise, filled with humor, moved...More

I really wanted to love this but I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting lots of bright colors for the laser light show but the images on the screen were mostly brown and Grey and didn't always seem to fit with the music. The...More

I went to the night sky show at 8pm in February and it was well worth it. $15 NZD for about an hour and a half where there is a hosted show about everything in the night sky. The host was very knowledgeable and the...More

Good way to see the stars of the southern hemisphere. They had stargazing but we were there on a cloudy night. They give out rainchecks but we couldn't fit it in again. The Stars of the Southern hemisphere lecture was fun and well done. The...More
