I absolutely love this spot. I don't know whether it's the giant crater, the magnificent views, or the walk it takes to see them, but this is my favorite place in Auckland.

This is everything the other reviewers say and especially the comments that this is the #1, if less obvious, place to go for Auckland views. Unlike One Tree Hill/Cornwall Park Mt Eden's proximity to major features and the angle of the morning sun make it...More

If you want a great view over Auckland, this is the place to go. It was most helpful for understanding where places are in the city. The old volcanic crater is covered in grass. There is abit of a climb from the carpark to the...More

You park at the bottom of the hill and walk to the top. A roundtrip takes about an hour and the view from the top is fantastic.

Worth a visit. Lovely place! Can view whole auckland city without a cost! Just need to spend half an hour or even less to go up to the top! Good place to chill

Beautiful 360 degree view of Auckland around a crater that is sacred to the Maori. Four stars for the loud Chinese groups disturbing the peaceful environment. Still worth a visit though!

Its a nice place to run from daily busy life. Just sit there and go deep in ur thoughts. You can go for a small hike from the bottom of the mountain.

Can't believe I haven't made it here before now. The crater truly takes your breath away when you finally reach the top after a brisk, steep climb. So worth all the effort to get there - and I recommend you walk it right from the...More

I usually visit high up places for good views. This one wasn't really worth it. In addition, I have asthma and you have to walk up a steep hill. I would skip this and go to the Sky Tower.
