The selection of New Zealand art is so large that most is in storage and you can come here every month and see different pieces of art. It is best to get on their mailing list so you can be informed of what/who is being...More

Found by complete accident and what a find it was. We love art so it ticked all the right boxes for us. The old restored villa itself is an art piece but the pieces inside are simply stunning. I believe the works get changed so...More

I wasn't expecting much from the description in the guide book. But the building itself and the grounds were stunning. The art collection we saw was contemporary on the ground floor, whereas the first floor had some pottery exhibits. I think it is a wonderful...More

I like the way this art collection connects with New Zealand culture and there is a current vibe to it. They run out reach programmes and art competitions so there is a sense of it being up to date and continually refreshed. It is clearly...More

We had a look after a poor lunch we had there. They recommend $5 entry but I dont think it was worth $5. Not much to see at all. All done in 10 minutes.

Off the beaten track, you're not likely to find this just driving by. There's only a small sign, then a drive past some homes, up to the top. Set in a hidden park and overlooking Onehunga and Manukau.

Even if you're not a lover of contemporary art, you should visit this fine gallery housed in a beautiful old mansion. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, this is a must-see in Auckland. After your done, sit down and relax in the cafe.

This is an exceptional Gallery. James Wallace has made a very significant contribution towards encouraging young New Zealand artists and by collecting theie work over many years. This is quite diferent from the collection strategy of publicly funded galleries. The setting is splendid showing off...More
