Devonport is a very nice suburb on the north shore. Clean and well appointed houses. The large Marina is worth a look at with all the various yachts and motor boats there. Nice views across the water to Auckland central.

A really lovely little day trip with family. Only 25 minute drive from Auckland. There’s a nice little beach, beautiful houses and a great little naval museum. Don’t go back in peak hour, which is anytime after 3pm as Lake Road becomes incredibly jammed.

The Museum staff were exceptionally welcoming - so far ALL New Zealanders have been friendly. The museum was a little gem. Look for the video of the Antarctic experience - the waves were over 5 stories tall! The tunnels were interesting with the historical facts...More

There are some great restaurants and cafes here. The look out here is great. We often take the kids here to look around and have a picnic. There is a lot to see up at the look outs

Took a Ferry ride over to Devonport and was disappointed really. There was hardly anyone around for a Monday afternoon, most places were closed and the place seemed pretty dead. Went up to Mt Victoria which has views all around Auckland, it was very cloudy...More
