In our way to Hamilton from Napier, the lake is around the halfway point. Huge lake with lots of activities, plenty of scenic parking spots. We stopped for lunch. Well worth taking the time to visit.

One of the biggest lakes in New Zealand, very nice lake and Town. 100% worth a stop if it wasn’t already on your list to visit. Lots to do around the area all within close proximity.

We really enjoyed our walk down at the lake. The swans were friendly, the rocks were interesting and very unique. They are true pumice from the last volcanic eruption.

It’s definitely one of the most beautiful lakes I’ve ever been to. These pics were taken at Waitetoko rest area, along State Highway 1
