I’m so used to walking on the tracks through the bush of Kings Park that it’s only just taken me until now to even find where this parkland is. And only because I was driving through the park with a friend showing her all of Kings Park that we came across this parkland.
It’s quite a nice area and popular with kids due to the playground here, plenty of parking available so it makes a good spot to have a picnic. I might have to go back and visit again.

A lovely place for the kids to run around while adults take in the serenity of the place. Large open spaces plus playground to get every bit of energy out of children. Just watch out for the crocodile and dinosaur lying about.

You will soon see why this is a popular place with the kids when you see the lake, play areas and of course the Dinosaurs and the various animals they can climb on. There is also a café/restaurant. toilets and nice areas to relax. Quality BBQ's and in all a top location to spend a few hours. The kids will love it.

This is a less well-known part of King's Park. The playground - both the one with the slides in the middle of the duck pond as well as the wooden ones - were a great outlet for the kids. Less tourists here. Has a small cafe that closes at 4.30pm. The walk in from the main road near the hospital looked daunting from the outside but it turned out that it was just a short path.

I visited Kings Park and Botanical Gardens with my 4 and 3-year-old children. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There was a lot of play equipment available that challenged the kids (and even adults). We loved the layout of the park and how there was an island playground made in the pond.
While we were there a baby duck egg had hatched. We didn’t see the egg hatching, though did get to see a baby duck swimming in the pond. It was amazing to see.
We all enjoyed walking around the park and lake, learning about and climbing the dinosaurs that were located throughout the area.
This is the perfect park for a family day out with lots for the kids to see, play and learn as well as allows adults to watch and relax or even have a turn on the play equipment. There are toilets, BBQ and lots of open space. Definitely worth a visit. I also think that the name of this section of the park is May Drive Parkland as per Google.

Plenty of things for the kids to play on, plus plenty of space for a picnic or use one of the barbeques. It is quite a long walk from the city side of the park, however, there are car parks nearby. Great sunny or rainy day activity and being part of Kings Park, it is immaculate.

We came here over summer for a picnic, lovely setting with soft grass areas. There's lots to see and do here, a pathway connects to all the different areas: the lake, the pavilion, the kids playground, the free BBQ area and the cafe area. Parking is off-road on May Drive. Definitely recommend visiting here for a relaxing time and is entertaining for both young and old.

We recently visited the Synergy Parkland area and put a picnic blanket out in the shade of one of the many large trees. King's Park has been doing a great job to improve the facilities available in this area and we walked though and visited all these in the proximity of the Zamia Cafe. Lots of parking, lots of picnic spots, many facilities to keep the young ones occupied, a great cafe and well kept lawns and gardens: Get the picture? If you don't, I highly recommend that you pay a visit and walk around and enjoy the facility.

Yearly Moonlight Cinema is held here... every summer.
They have a list of great new movies for showing, perfect venue for watching a movie under the stars while having picnic.
Just make sure you purchase your tix early; come 2hours before to secure great parking & seating area... pack a full picnic, bring extra pillows... & blankets although its summer ( the park is pretty windy).

Kings Park has always provided a lot of fun to our family over the years but I always enjoyed the simple amusements that were on offer such as large fallen trees that you could climb on our over. Luckily my children got to briefly enjoy it before everyone became worried about everything.
This was shut down but common sense reappeared with this park was createf where kids could be kids.
It's refreshing to see family's enjoying this area and is activities.
