Great memorabilia. Sat on authentic deck chairs , sprayed mozzie repellent and sat back to watch Sweet Country which was fantastic. Loved the plane flying over through the film and felt Sun Cinema had an ambience of yesteryear

Wonderful experience of plane flying over whilst watching the movie. Great memorabilia and lovely authentic ambiance to an authentic Australian icon. Ticket person was most helpful and happened to chat again at Matso's Brewery

We took the kids to see a movie and loved the whole experience. Very quaint and just a nice way to spend an evening. Planes flying in very low were quite noisy but added to the experience. Lots of geckos crawling across the big screen....More

We wandered in to Sun Pictures during the day one day - there were no movies showing and the foyer and theatre were open to browse. The building is old and in good condition and it feels like stepping back in time. The walls are...More

It’s hard not to be curious about the oldest outdoor cinema in the world! We chose a lovely clear evening to visit and it was by no means crowded. The seats are basic, and can be a little uncomfortable. Someone suggested we bring a pillow...More

Saw Star Wars The Last Jedi under the stars at Sun Pictures Cinema tonight. What a treat! The clouds passing overhead obscuring the moon. Bats flying overhead as if they were choreographed with the movie. No visit to Broome would be complete without visiting this...More

What a great place, full of history and definitely a one of a kind! A great experience with the planes flying overhead, bats flying across and of course the popcorn & choc tops! Excellent night out!

This place is awesome - a quaint outdoor cinema. It has all the history inside and the old deck chairs. You can buy the same snacks as a regular cinema. This place is cash only so be sure to have cash 💰

This time I only walked past the Sun Pictures venue. Last year however and on a number of other occasions I loved going there. The theatre is different-it's partly outdoors and when the planes fly overhead you can almost touch them. An interesting display of...More

Hi there, dogs are not allowed at the indoor or the outdoor. Years ago at the outdoor you saw the occasional dog :)
