A visit here is a must in Broome. Never realised Broome had been bombed. The silent statues at the beginning of the peer really touched my heart - to hear the Japanese families who had worked all the pearling lugs interned and loosing everything durring WW2. Town Beach has great water park for the children and hosts severtal markets. Also the place to be for the staircase to the moon experience.

Beautifully maintained with loads of lovely picnic area's, water park and playground for the children. Clean toilets, plenty of parking. A great jetty to look at the tide going in and out. There were some food vans when we visited. Nice peaceful place to visit. Markets are held here during the full moon which are well worth a visit.

A great place to visit. Beautiful views of Roebuck Bay and the sculptures telling the story of the Japanese bombing of Broome are very moving.

Town Beach boasts palm trees, soft brown sand, and grassy areas. If you are into driftwood, you can find some on the beach. This seems to be a popular place for picnics and families. There is also a children’s playground and water park. The park overlooks the original jetty used by pearl luggers in the 20th century. Town Beach is the site of the memorial for the World War II Japanese attack in March of 1942.: 9 Zeros, 9 Stories.

Beautiful spot to take some photos. Interesting to see green mangroves next to sparkling turquoise water. Lots of families enjoying the green lawns under the trees.

WW11 memorial was very interesting and well presented as were the picnic lawns. Beach was below expectations however the wharf provided a good walk over the ocean.
Parking is readily available.

This beach is very accessible and easy to park there. Low tide and high tide make the beach very different but both have their charm.

Great for taking a family. Near our accommodation in Roebuck Bay. Went to the Thursday market and enjoyed the live music. Nice to walk on the jetty and also read the WW2 information at the new sculptures.

How far is the beach from the city? I would like to go to see the upstairs case to the moon. Is safe to go alone? Thanks

Yes it is safe, and it is about a 15/20 minute from town centre.
