These Chinese Gardens represents a cooperative effort between Melbourne and Tianjin. Tianjin is a prosperous port-city in north-eastern China; it is the Victorian capital's sister city. The Gardens are located in Spring St at top end of Little Bourke St, the northern entrance to Melbourne's. Chinatown. The Tianjn Gardens are typical Chinese Gardens, with rocks, water, trees and two guardian lions. Chinese Gardens do not usually have flowers. One can appreciate the naturally sculpted rocks; the Tianjin Gardens encourage quiet contemplation.

This is a typical Chinese garden, built in classical style. It has two pairs of carved lions, rocks, water and trees. There are no flowers. It adjoins the Parliament Loop station. The garden was donated by Melbourne's Chinese sister city, Tianjin.

Walking along Busy Spring Street it was nice to come across this little Chinese Garden.
Nicely decorated in the Chinese theme it is a nice little spot to seat and relax for a while and watch the world go by .
Good spot to have a drink and a bit of lunch, quite a few people were doing just that which was good to see

Just across the road from the Parliament Reserve Gardens is a little garden which was a gift from the city of Tianjin, in recognition of Melbourne as its sister city. Two marble lions stand sentry at the steps. It also contains a water feature and shaded gateway.

Located in the North East section of the CBD, across from Parliament Reserve and Parliament Gardens, this small garden has a Chinese flavour to it. A little oasis in a busy corner of the city.

Tianjin is the sister city of Melbourne; the relationship was formed in 1980, one of the first such bilateral relationships. Tianjin is on the northeast coast of China, amongst other things it acts as a port for Beijing. The population is 15 million, which is a medium-sized city in China. The garden is adjacent to the Parliament Loop Station, close to Chinatown. The Garden is a typical Chinese garden, which do not often have many flowers, but are quite immaginative.

Tianjin is a coastal metropolis in north-west China; it is Melbourne's sister city. The garden is in Chinese style, it's near Little Bourke St, Melbourne's Chinatown. It's near the Parliament Station, on the City Loop. Chinese gardens are not overly colorful, relying more on structure and setting for effect.

This small garden was created to cement the friendship between Melbourne and its sister city, Tianjin. It sits on top on the Parliament Loop Station. If like Oriental things, you will probably like it. Tianjin is one of China's largest cities, with a population of 15 million. Tianjin is in North China, on the Bohai Sea.

Melbourne formed a sister city relationship with Tianjin in 1980, one of the first such connections. Tianjin is in North China, on the coast -- it has a population of 15 million, making it one of the largest cities in China. The garden is quite small, it is on top of the underground Parliament Loop Station. If you are into oriental things, you may enjoy it
