On a hot summers night this park is quite romantic to walk through... the sprinklers come alive and the cool atmosphere with the lights causing dappling on the grass is quite beautiful. For me, in this instance, it was not romance that brought me here but serendipity. My companion was someone I was familiar and safe with...so it was a pleasant park to walk through.

Declared a park in 1873...It is located directly north of the University of Melbourne and bounded on its eastern and western sides by Melbourne General Cemetery and Royal Parade respectively. The reason I was here was simply because I had been visiting my daughter in the nearby Royal Women's Hospital ... and I felt like walking that evening.

It was named for Albert, Prince Consort. It is truly a wonderful place to unwind from. your day.

This is a lovely ark to the north of the city. You can walk up Royal Parade to get here or take a tram. It has lots of places to picnic and some water features.

Princes Park is a large expanse of grassy open space to the north of the City of Melbourne, bounded by Royal Parade. There's more than enough space to walk your dog or kick a ball, or just go for a stroll. Carlton Football Club, "the old dark navy blues" have its home ground here. Sadly, the Blue Boys haven't been doing well of late. Princes Park has space to play and thanks to copious recent rains, the turf is luxuriant.

We have decided in 2021 to do some parkrun tourism and were delighted to be able to add Parkville to our list. The course runs around the extremities of the park along a flat gravel path. The path is generally flat with expanses of lawn surrounded by trees. A great green space in the centre of Melbourne. Great fun.

A large, ope, green space to the north of the CBD. Princes Park has sporting ovals, an AFL stadium, playgrounds for the kids, running tracks and places to have a picnic.

Out early to avoid the coming heat this Summer's day, we walked, ran, and sat in the shade. The park is looking beautiful after recent rain and the caretaker's cottage garden is in flower.

Quite a large park with a major stadium in the middle (though no longer used for AFL games). Pretty cool, lots of facilities and playgrounds, as well as an ornamental lake. Great for picnics and get togethers.

So many people running and walking, it is just as well we have signs to remind us to keep our distance. The ducks (Pacific Black and Chestnut Teal) never maintain their distance, but are well appreciated by families sitting on the grass in the Late Winter sunshine.

The park was very busy today. Everyone seemed to be walking or jogging as personal exercise (alone or in households) is still permitted. The ducks were all out as well, unfazed, as no one stopped or approached them.

Summer is here and it is time for picnics and shady trees and resting on the lawn. There were many ducks here last week, but just three today, plus a Cormorant. Many people were enjoying themselves, just resting with a book or with a dog.
