Forget the hop on-hop off bus! This tour was incredible! Going right into the heart of the city on a comfortable bike with an easy ride, we came away with so much insight into this great city. We stopped at about 10 sites around the town during our 16km ride and the tour guide was a passionate history buff who... More

My husband and 6 1/2 year old had a fantastic day on the City Tour with Matt (and Freddy too). Matt did an awesome job giving lots of history and details along the way too! Our daughter LOVED the "tag-a-long" bike! Only a couple minor hills-no problem. Ate lunch at an out of the way place that was very good.... More

Fantastic day with Matt our guide. The weather was stunning, bikes safe and sturdy and a good mix of stories, sights and cycling. It's not intense by any means but still a few small hills and a good pace. Lunch as previously mentioned was very good and chilled. Highly recommend!

Matt was excellent guide, full of local knowledge and historical relevance. Great lunch location. Ride was easy, a little awareness reqd on paths and roads, but not a problem.

Due to mechanical issues with our cruise ship we had to reschedule this tour twice. Fortunately, James @ Freddy's was very helpful and accommodating each time. Once we arrived at the Port of Melbourne we were able to take the tram all the way from the port to Batman Park where Freddy's is located. The tour started out with a... More

I was also on the tour with James ( see message below) and whole hardheartedly agree that it was a great way to see the city. The temp was above 30 C but we stayed hydrated and found shady spots while Matt, our knowledgeable guide filled us in on the history of Melbourne. Our lunch stop at "The Grub" was... More

A great cycle tour around Melbourne, it's a perfect city for cycling as it's pretty flat (just a few minor hills) with good routes along the river, and sites including the sports district, plenty of parks, culture, grand buildings and history to cover. Even on a hot summer's day it was manageable for anyone of average fitness or better. Bikes... More

We have just finished the tour and we had an amazing time. Matt our guide was fantastic and he taught us so much about the history of Melbourne - I'd highly recommend this for tourists and locals as a fun and different way to see the city and some of its amazing sites/landmarks Thank you Matt for a great tour!

Had a great day!!! The boys were lovely. We rode from Freddy's and stuck to the river all the way to Abbotsford Convent. It was a long way there but came back through Collingwood which was a quick trip back. The bikes are easy to use and comfy seats. A must do in Melbourne to see the sights at a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
