This is a really enjoyable tour to get to know the city. (A bit of a work out too...!) This 4-5 hour tour gave a very good introduction to the city's history and culture. Matt was a very friendly and knowledgable guide and he explained in detail the surrounding and the transformation of the city. Had lunch at a very... More

Fun day out with Matt. Informative, scenic and a great way to orientate oneself with the CBD and parks, gardens and historic buildings close by. Beer and lunch also part of the experience. Cheers

Melbourne is so well set up for cycling. They have excellent cycle only or cycle/pedestrian trails all over the city. We wanted to travel the outer reaches not accessible with the Melbourne Bike Share scheme which I will review separately. We used Freddy's and they were really good to deal with. The bikes are comfortable and probably a year off... More

I really enjoyed the tour with guide Matt and 5 others. You visit a couple of highlights/parks and Matt has great stories about melbourne and its history. Fun, relaxed and informative! Great lunch too!

I was lucky to come to Melbourne at the right time just before winter. Matt was an excellent guide, one who would save you hours of reading history book as he's very well versed at Victorian history. Highly recommended.

Mat, our guide was entertaining and made our ride so enjoyable. An easy ride around Melbourne, great spots visited, interesting information & a great insight into Melbourne. Lunch was in a great spot. Perfect for a girls weekend in between drinking wine!

Highly recommend this bike tour- what a wonderful way to see Melbourne. We spent an enjoyable 4.5 hours cycling around and learning all about this great city with Matt our guide for the day. Matt made the day - he was great fun and good humour but full of information. Great value for money too!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
