Every Sunday, come rain hail or shine, a busy street in the heart of Hobart transforms into a bustling farmers' market. It's all about Tasmanian produce and getting to know your farmer, and it always has been.

Walked around the market. Good selection of various fresh foods. Rain depressed things a little but still worth the time. Got a good selection of apples, cheese and honey to snack on tonight while playing cards.

On Sunday after church, we went to the Farm Gate Market. They closed a large part of the road, so that people could walk unhindered. No cars! It was cool. It was more about food like berries, fruit, vegetables and food. There were flowers on sale...More

It is lovely to stroll through these markets and the lemon curd doughnuts are to die for!!! Wonderful fresh produce from all over sold by their owners.

Easy market to get to and is nice to have a walk around on a Sunday. The fact that it is smaller means that the stall people are able to give you more information around their products so you know what you are paying for....More

Personally, I enjoyed this market so much more than Salamanca, which was so crowded I could barely see the stalls. Also, the food here was infinitely better than what my husband and I had at Salamanca. We came here in the morning at 8:20, just...More

Such a welcoming neighbourly atmosphere at this market. A range of fresh produce plus the other usual products. The Ashbolt olive oil is worth trying as is the popular local bread close by. A nice place to visit on a Sunday morning. Loads of eating places.

The farm gate market was a lovely relaxed market, a great change of pace to the Salamanca markets. It was booming with fresh produce and colorful stall holders ready to show off their goods.
