Doris aka Jo and the 2 volunteers were absolutely brilliant for the Adelaide Clipper ship Ghost tour. You could tell it wasn’t something they do to pay the mortgage ( especially the volunteers!) they enjoyed sharing their knowledge and experience. Made sure everyone was included, comfortable & enjoying their experience. I would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone who loves history, ghost 👻 tours, or just mildly curious.

Fascinating tour with Jo, our tour guide keeping us entertained throughout with Adelaide gaol’s incredible history and stories. You could feel the sadness and misery of the place still. Highly recommended! Kevin.

Me and my teen and child had a great time, well catered too children in 35 degrees Celsius. Lots of ghost activity. Got to investigate and hear voices. Got some great pics. Would highly recommend Joe and Kelly on these tours.

Certainly worth doing. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and was able to provide a great deal of history about the gaol that the kids were able to understand. It managed to give the kids a bit of a scare once the sun went down. Would definitely look into doing one of the adult tours! 4 stars!

The Kids Ghost Tour of the Old Adelaide Gaol was an entertaining and informative experience for myself and my 12D. Jo (our tour guide) was hilarious, passionate and made the tour so much better than what we were expecting. Even if you don't "believe" in the paranormal, the history lesson is enough for you to do your own research when you get home.

This tour really needs work. Very boring and lacking in content, mostly wandering around pointing out spots where apparently photos had been taken with ghosts in them. There was no in depth story telling or interesting history.

I have done a few ghost tours over the years and this hotel certainly has a lot of energy about it that is for sure. I would love to do a tour of more of the town and it's buildings. This is such an interesting town. My only criticism would be the tour guide read most of the facts from a folder, didn't seem to have a lot of enthusiasm and couldn't answer many of our questions. One of the town's residents seemed to know more and have more stories. But the town and hotel speaks for itself really, my friends and I got some great/strange photos. This is a tour I'd really like to do again and would recommend to others. Next on the list is the Port Adelaide and CBD tour. We need to get an emf radar, sound recorder and a better camera for next time though.

I don't normally like to write reports if they are not positive, but in this case I thought it important to offer some feedback for others. I arranged the tour with 5 other friends as a fun night out and were sadly disappointed. I didn't necessarily expect to see 'ghosts' or unearthly phenomenon as this cannot be controlled by anyone, needless the company providing the tour, but our guide arrived without introducing himself at our dinner table and seemed annoyed with us that the staff at the hotel were delayed in getting us to pay our account due to the number of people waiting at the counter. Once dinner was paid we were herded upstairs like sheep to be shown a video about contributing more money, then one another about the 'spooky' locations in Kapunda - which we were then told we would 'not' be visiting today!
After going downstairs to look at some rooms filled with rubble and storage for the hotel, we left the hotel to have a history tour guided walk around the suburbs of Kapunda. The tour guide did not wait for the crowd to be collected before he presented information and often talked while walking at the front of the group of 21 people so those that were not closely located to him could not hear any of the information, nor would he wait for anyone if we tried to relay the information to one another when we managed to view 'points of interest'. I spoke with him half way through the tour during a break where he disclosed that normally they only have 14 attendees on a tour and on this occasion he had 21, which he could not manage.
Needless to say, we left shortly after the 'mid-tour' break for our drive back home to Adelaide as we were still unable to hear information, nor see things that were being pointed out due to the number of people on the tour.
For anyone contemplating attending this tour, I highly recommend the meals at the Kapunda hotel, they were definitely the highlight of the night, but otherwise save your money and head to movies where you can hear information and be entertained for a few hours rather than wasting your time on this tour. A waste of time and money.
Sad, but true......

We were very sorry to hear that this customer did not enjoy the tour and reached out to them several times. We have offered a discount on other tours via email and would like nothing better than to remedy the situation.

Completely underwhelmed.
I've done a quite a few ghost/dark history tours and this was probably one of the worst. We first arrived at the hotel to sign in and had the guide disappear without any clear indication about where we were meant to meet to start the tour (we were stuck waiting awkwardly for 15 minutes, wondering if were in the right place).
Once she managed to locate everyone, we headed upstairs where we watched a short video about the hotel and some ghost hunters. Personally, I was a bit annoyed by this because we were IN the hotel and it was irritating watching a bunch of grown men scare themselves silly (Not saying that the hotel isn't haunted, but the their reaction was over the top).
We were then taken in a small loop around the town and told about about various tragedies that had occurred via the guide reading from a book.
The tour went back upstairs to the hotel and had a young bunch of patrons from the pub frequently wander over to the tour and ruin the atmosphere with yelling and squeals.
This is the second tour I've done with this company, (I did the Adelaide ghost tour a few months ago) and both guides read straight from a book and were unable to answer related questions.
If you're into history, you'd be better off buying a book then taking this tour. I certainly won't be taking any other tours with this company.
