Macintosh Island Park is a wonderful oasis of a park close to Main Beach, Narrowneck and Surfers Paradise. With plenty of shade amongst the trees, there is a lake, plenty of birdlife (such as peacocks), a play area, picnic tables, all in a peaceful and tranquil location just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Main Beach and Surfers Paradise. A wonderful place to escape the crowds for an hour or two.

What a sensational experience to wander through the lush greenery, trickling fountains and numerous wildlife in their full splendor.

Beautiful place for a quite time with nature. Lots of walks with great gardens, water features and wet areas with many and varied bird life. Just a short walk from Main Beach and Tedder Avenue with its lovely cafe's.

Not frequently visited by the looks of the parking, the Island Park features a nice playground and a "Peacock Enclosure" in which peacocks and other birds play around in a creek.

We took our 7yo daughter to the playground there and ended up walking around. To our surprise, we found the "Peacock enclosure", which is NOT an enclosure per se, but more like a protected area where lots and lots of beautiful birds can fly to and from (but people can't go there). The playground area, with the little waterfall, play equipment, and the water stream are amazing. And the bird's area (Google 'Peacock Enclosure') is a must see.

We visited this park on a Saturday. We were surprised to find it almost deserted. Plenty of parking spots and easy access. Park has plenty of seats, tables BBQs and toilets
Its located adjacent to main beach and has a link bridge for pedestrians
Kids were jumping off the bridge into the canal, which looked like fun
There are two kids play grounds, one has an island with a sleeping giant!
There are a few creeks and s waterfall
We found a shady spot and had a picnic
There are a few resident peacocks 🦚!
The canal can be accessed by a small beach but there are vessels using the canal so watch out.
We’ll be back again as this was a peaceful and convenient location

My toddler enjoyed looking at the peacocks along the path and also enjoyed the small playground. However, the playground smelled like cheese so we didn't stay long

We rode an electric bike up to this park and had a ball with the kids feeling safe to ride here. Lovely place. Walking distance from surfers

Fun for kids, lovely walk with Peacocks and Pea hens strutting around, ducks and water dragons. Good biking track and on the holidays there is often puppet shows.

Came here with the kids on recent trip to GC. Was told by Apartment manager about it. It is a little oasis in the bustling city, beautiful park with lots of shade, a little beach by the river next to the massive walk bridge. Big Foot was a nice surprise for the kids as well as the play grounds. All the natural flora and fauna then we saw the peacocks. Beautiful majestic creatures, although we didn't see any fan the feathers, there presence and colours were amazing. And to get so close them was great. Feel that they may have become a bit too used to tourists and perhaps they should be protects a bit better, but what a treat for both adults and kids. Lovely place to relax and get away from it all and being so close to central Surfers.
