The park is not particularly big, but it is a great place to spend a few quiet moments. Dedicated to John Fraser who was killed at the young age of 23 in Vietnam. He gave his life to protect his fellow soldiers.

The people of the Gold Coast are fortunate to have so many lovely parks. This is one of them looked after and kept well maintained by the council
Worth a visit with a picnic basket and bottle of wine.

Great place to enjoy the peace, take a gander at the beauty, the koi pond, the palms, the light breeze. Try to come early in the morning and early in your day and I can assure you it will be memorable. Great place to meditate, yoga, tai chi, bring a coffee, sit, think and just be.

I knew John and his brother Frog very well and played football against John when he was at Nudgee and I was at TSS. A really top guy who would do anything for his mates and proved that with his life. Every time I drive past the park, I bow my head in respect.
It's great to see someone remembered with the naming of a public park after him and not some useless ex councillor who never did much at all. At the bottom of the question segment it asks if it is suitable for children. Well, It certainly is. You can explain to them that this bloke wasn't much older than them when he gave his life for his mates

This small piece of tranquillity in Surfers Paradise recalls local boy John Fraser, and Old Boy of both The Southport School and Nudgee College, whose memory is revered to this day, nearly fifty years after he died as a young Australian Army officer in Vietnam. Respect.
