In 1925, the renowned hotel entrepreneur James (Jim) Cavill arrived on the scene and created the legendary Surfers Paradise Hotel. Over the decades we have evolved into one of the Gold Coast's most iconic venues; a home for locals, visitors, and the heart and soul of Surfers. The Beer Garden we know and love has been resurrected, with a fresh and inspired new design. Watch all your favourite sports. Play Games. Socialise. People watch on Cavill Avenue. All with a cold beer or cocktail in hand, and the best food the Gold Coast has to offer. Open daily from 11am.

A group of 5, mixed ages, decided to dine here for Dinner & so very glad that we did.
Giant Games to play, cool décor & a nice place for smokers.
Lets talk about the food - yummo. The 5 of us cleaned our plates and were very satisfied with both quantity & taste.
Steaks were cooked to perfection, sticky Ribs got the thumbs up & the Burgers were great. The Chef has things down pat.
'Abbey' the Maître D was attentive to her position which showed clearly in how smooth everything ran within the premises.
Our daughter also tells us that on the weekends, the place 'packs out' after the Restaurant closes and a good night is had by all, catering for the younger age group.
We highly recommend this place for an enjoyable time & good food and we will be returning ourselves.

Situated in the heart of Surfers, at the intersection of Orchid and Cavill Aves, this place is well worth a visit and is situated on the 1st floor hence offers good views.
The beer garden has a decent outdoor area, some undercover and some not. Inside there are numerous places where you can sit and plenty games on offer if to keep you occupied if you so desire.
There is a large L-shaped bar serving an assortment of beverages with fairly attentive staff willing to take your order.
As mentioned previously, being on the 1st floor, you look down on Cavill and Orchid Aves and it is a great place to simply watch the world go by.
Probably the highlight was the food, I ordered the Chicken Parmy and I can tell I was glad that I did! It would have to rate as one of the best Parmys that I have had, hats off to the chef! It would be interesting to see if the quality of food remained consintent during busy periods as it was fairly quite when I visited.
On a side note, the male toilets on the 1st floor almost made you wear a face mask if you get my drift.....
Overall, I was fairly impressed with the service, the set up, and very impressed with the food!

Beautiful venue with beautiful customer service. Zara makes amazing cocktails, Hannah and Bonnie made us feel so welcome on our day out in Surfers with friends. If you’re looking for amazing quality cocktails at a great price, and great customer service make sure you pay a visit here!

Terrible experience - ordered wings that were inedible. Over cooked frozen crumbed tasteless . Would have been tastier ordering wings from dominos. Will not be returning for food. Also there were cockroaches everywhere!!! Large cockroaches , not a great sign when Yourve ordered food. This establishment really needs to get it together - it used to be a great vibe but food , pests and lacklustre staff attitudes - we will now avoid

This restaurant is in a great location and was across from where we were staying, we did not need a booking and there were plenty of tables to choose from however given that there were not too many guests dining at the time, our meals took forever. The garlic bread starter came out with the mains and the staff were not friendly and plonked our food down without even saying a word. The food was ok but nothing to rave about. There are plenty of options for food on and near Cavil Ave, what makes this place unique is that there are Jenga blocks to play games while waiting for food however we chose to sit on the balcony where there were no games to keep us entertained while we waited around 45 minutes for our meals.

My friends were rejected on entry because of alcohol intoxication. We all accepted this and they went home in an uber.
When i returned to the beer garden i was told to leave because my friends were intoxicated.. so i must be aswell I am having a problem with that because they started drinking hours before me and I dont like being persecuted for association.
I've been drinking at the beergarden for many years and am very offended by the hostile behavior of your security personnel
Yes, I'm an old lady, but does that predict how I will be treated at certain venues??

Service wasn’t very good, asked for food to come at same time as our friends and didn’t arrive until 20 minutes after we ate ours. When it finally arrived there was a black hair in the cheese platter. Food isn’t good, I mean who puts raspberry and mint in a sticky date pudding.. Won’t be back or recommending.

Okay me and my partner decided to venture and try a new bar around in surfers paradise, so after a quick web search we ended up at the Beer Garden in Surfers paradise.
Now personally I don’t drink but my partner does so thankfully there was fun activities for both of us to do to keep us entertained. My partner drank and I planned onslaught of games and activities they had to offer such as giant connect 4 and giant Jenga so let me tell you I had a blast. Aside from that I had the staff member by the name of Tatum work her first shift the same night I went and she was phenomenal, she offered great customer service and just made the visit a very personalable experience.
Thanks again Tatum and thank you Beer Garden, I’ll definitely be returning when I’m back on the coast!!!

The location is brilliant and outdoor area lovely for sitting outside, even in winter.
The service and food not so much. We started with the empanadas filled with red bean and beef with salsa and sour cream and were disappointed and found they were boring and flavourless. The overall option was that they were not worth eating, but we were hungry.
The Mexican veggie burger - roasted carrot, kale and chickpea patty with lettuce, tomato, (non-existent) corn tortillas, guacamole and sour cream had flavour but was a sloppy mess. What a shame I paid extra for plastic cheese.
Unfortunately, the chips were the best part of the meal, however it's worth a visit for the location and selection of drinks. We recommend sitting on the balcony in the sun with a nice drink enjoying the afternoon in Surfers Paradise.

During my 10-week language stay on the Gold Coast, the Beergarden was a regular meeting place to have a drink after school or in the evening. Great ambience, fair prices and varied music.
I can't judge how the beer garden is doing today.
But 5 years ago it was definitely one of the best places in town.

Hi The Beer Garden,
I've just arrived home from my short stay on the Gold Coast for a business trip. As I was travelling alone I came into the big garden both Friday and Saturday night for a beer and was served by a lovely bar tender of yours. Unfortunately I was unable to grab her name but if you could please pass onto her my many thanks as she had left the bar when I came back to thank her for her work tonight. She always remembered my big order as I was buying rounds for a few of the local boys and was more then helpful which was nice to see for a change as many of the girls from the other bars on the coast simply don't have the time of day. She had very long dark red hair and wore a long sleeve shirt. Cheers Kalum
