Worst experience. The selection of wax figures are very limited and have no diversity and hardly show any resemblance of the original figures. Barely any explanations. The condition of the figures as well as the signs are very poor quality and it looks like they are from 20 years ago with no attempt at updating it or making it modern. The whole building needs a complete refurbishment or be shut down. In addition to that the "history tour" was disgusting and there was no warning that it would be about violent methods of torture used around Europe and different ways of executing people. This is especially if there are kids too. It's not funny or exciting, its brutal. To add to it the tour guide ignorantly would speak about these parts of history and then go on to say Australia is a peaceful country with no violence, and proud of their settler ancestry completely disregarding the absolutely barbaric and cruel way Australia was even established. British "explorers" considered a land full of Indigenous Aboriginal people and their rich society to be emtpy land, then killed them as if they were not human beings, prevented them from defending themselves, stole their children away from them and continued to act like this land is theirs. The tour guide could have at the very least showed sensitivity to this brutal history rather than being proud of it. Also, the tour guide would make it seem like these torture methods no longer exist and tyrants are a thing of the past, which again is extremely ignorant and insensitive as there is so much oppression happening to innocent people as we speak. Don't waste your money and valuable holiday time with the family on this failed attraction.

Wow, so sorry you are disappointed with the Museum. The museum has been open on the Gold Coast since 1968. A museum does not stick around that long unless its good. Sorry not just good, but awesome. Maybe you missed some of the new figures that have been recently added to the Museum. The new version of his Majesty King Charles III, or Ed Sheeran? The museum is constantly updating its figures. Also not sure you what you thought the Chamber of Horrors would all be about, it ‘s about tortures and punishments in the middle ages. It interesting, historical and educational. Sorry you had a disappointing time at the Museum however the majority of thousands of people who have come through the museum have thoroughly enjoyed their visit.

Don't go there. It's SO bad!! It should be renamed to the SUX MUSUEM.
Genuinely feel ripped off. Cost $112 for 4 people.
It started off downstairs with a 30 minute tour of various torture methods. Most people in the group walked out within 5-10 minutes.
I thought this was one of the main attractions on the Gold Coast. It is not. It's just a drab, out-dated collections of dioramas made up of components that look like they were bought on Wish. Don't expect Taylor Swift or anything new or relevant.
No toilet facilities either. Nearest one was across a 4 lane road.
I created an account just to leave this review. If I could leave zero stars, I would.

Hi. Thank you for your visit. Yes, the Chamber of Horrors tour is fantastic. Our dioramas were made by Hugh Tussard, so to criticise his works of art is a big OUCH to a famous wax modeller. All the best.

Very lifelike full size Wax figures. Interesting Royal Jewels (copy) - though includes the Crown the late Queen wore in Coronation rehersalas! The second part guided tour is a bit scary - not for everyone... Recommended.

Couldn’t understand the tour guide due to his accent, plus there was no info sheets to help. Actually with info sheets you wouldn’t need a tour quite, it’s really not big enough for one. The displays really aren’t that graphic, children see worse on the tv. Overall it was an easy fill in hour. Bit pricey though.

Yes we are so lucky to have a tour guide through The Chamber of Horrors as a lot of tourists enjoy a tour guide. Some people find it hard to read and enjoy the exhibits at the same time.

Honestly terrible. The Whitney Houston model was a white Woman with blonde hair and the queen looked more like princess Fiona from shrek. Can’t believe we paid so much money for that rubbish

Isn't it sad about the death of Tina Turner she can now be with her friend Whitney Houston. Imagine the music? Whitney sang at the opening of Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast and was the opening act to Frank Sinatra and looked exactly as our wax figure. Wax figures once made never change people change.

The famous people wax figures was ok. It's The chamber of horrors left me asking myself what the hell I had just seen? No warning given and little kids were allowed through. Really poor form.

The horror section really reminds you of how harsh punishment was back in the olden days. If you are a bit squeamish, skip it. It was interesting for the kids to see a wax museum as there aren’t many left in the world. Gave us the opportunity as a family to discuss the world figures displayed there.
