About
Today there are two types of people on Earth: the ones who rave about mind-bending live escape games and the ones who have never heard of them. Gradually the first group is eating the second one. Alive. Literally. It is very tricky to describe the concept of a Live Escape Game at first, but once you have tried it, the genre is obvious! You and your friends solve puzzles, crack riddles and open locks in a fast paced hour where you will either come out with massive smiles or hating everything. Our games are exciting yet challenging and have been perfectly designed for groups of 2-6 people regardless of knowledge or any specific skills. Players are locked in our themed rooms and must put together the hidden clues they find to overcome various mental tasks they encounter in order to escape the room before the 60 minute timer hits 0!

Absolutely loved this experience! Went there on a whim of wanting to try an escape room in the Gold Coast as I’m on a holiday from Canberra and this place is the place to go! Immediately walked into the venue and was greeted with a friendly environment and an even friendlier staff member who checked us in after we said our renovation, me, my partner and my parents all played the dollhouse and it was a really fun room! All the puzzles were laid out very well and when we did need a hint the hint guided us clearly in the right path but not by giving up the entire puzzle. I would strongly recommend padlockd escape rooms as the overall experience has left me wanting to come back to complete all the other rooms!!

Really enjoyed Padlock’d. Four of us (adults) did Museum heist - 3/5 difficulty. Had lots of fun solving the clues. Some were pretty tricky!! Game master was excellent, and knew exactly where we were up to and just supplying a little clue when we asked for it to get going again. Will definitely come back next trip to GC… many more rooms to explore!

It was amazing! The puzzles were really fun to do as it is tricky and cool at the same time. The entire game is very well made with every step being something that can lead us to achieving our goal. Our gamemaster, Trent was very nice to us and was friendly too. I would definitely recommend to go here!

My first time doing an escape room and my partner and i had a lot of fun with it. They offer a bar and game area while you wait. You have a locker where you can keep your stuff and they are pretty prompt with time.
The challenge we did was difficult, but they do offer some level of assistance via walkie talkie. All in at all it was good fun.

Another great experience with Padlock’d. This time we tried The Crystal Mine but found out it was in the new location at Patadise Centre on Cavill.
Mickey from the front desk and our game master was amazing, very friendly. She offered us a discount code after we finished for our next visit.
We will be back and highly recommend.

This was my first escape room but my kids had been on a few. They said it was one of the best if not the best they've done. I found the staff very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Very impressive setup of the game. Lots of thought and planning must have gone in and then resetting everything for the next group. Is a nice team building exercise.

A fabulous hour of terrors and trepidation
We took our Neice age 12 who was an escape room veteran.
We were escape room novices
We did the Vampire room 4/5 difficulty rating
We had such a brilliant time
The puzzles were hard but Ruby our guide gave small hints if needed
The effects were scary and made us jump but laugh as well.
We would highly recommend this escape room
for age 10 upwards
This would be great for a party or office bonding sessions and well as kids and adults alike.
Each room has a different story, setting and puzzles.
Would definitely do again in another room.

Me and my group played one of the horror escape rooms (Nightmare)
We all agree it was an awesome and frightening experience, one of us lost our appetite after, definitely was worth it. It was like being in a horror movie in person, the actors performed well in their roles. We wish it went for longer.

Today was my third time doing one here and I have absolutely no complaints. 2/3 times, our game master was Ruby and she was excellent at guiding us through and very friendly. The escape rooms themselves were accurately described and very fun to do. We have now done The Haunted Toystore (now replaced with the Dollhouse), The Nightmare and The Serial Killer and will be doing the new escape room, The Freakshow.
I do recommend buying the minimum amount of tickets on the day (Mon-Fri - Minimum 2 people or Sat+Sun - Minimum of 3 people) and add more people as needed on the day incase people cancel or you aren’t able to make it.
Other than that, the badges are adorable and the environment and people are amazing. I love it. The waiting room itself has short escape rooms or activities to do while waiting. The staff really make the environment 10x better. Will forever recommend this as the best Escape Room company in Surfers.

As a group of 5 adults who had done some escape rooms before, we tackled the nightfall room (4/5 difficulty). We had a great time and smashed the room in 35 minutes. We really wanted to try the hardest daybreak room, so we used our 15% off return voucher a few days later. This room is really hard, as you start the room blindfolded, in the dark and chained to a wall! Our group of five made it through all of the rooms and were just about to open the door when the time ran out. The challenges were challenging but fun. We love this room the best, and recommend this to anyone who has done escape rooms before. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. We would highly recommend this activity especially for adults who love solving problems.

Is it appropriate for children? What age group does it suit?

They say anyone under 7 can go in for free. I think it would be too hard for under 12s. There must be at least one person over the age of 15 in the room with younger ones, for safety reasons.
Also really depends if they’re going to be working alongside adults or not. A family could work with varying ages.
