What a gem! This is a "must do" for any visitor to Rocky, whether or not you are a train enthusiast. The staff and volunteers are very knowledgeable, the displays are interesting and well set out. And as for the building ... it's just magnificent.
What a great job of reconstructing this rail museum. We rode on the only operating steam tram in the world in existence which was quite an experience. Of interest it was one of nine steam trams manufactured in France and purchased by Rockhampton municipal tramway....More
We all thoroughly enjoyed the railway museum and the tram ride. All the staff or volunteers are extremely knowledgeable and lovely to talk to. The audio guides in the trains are wonderful and have great explanation of the trains. Will go again!
