If you want to go sailing or on any boat trips you need to venture down here but be aware it’s not somewhere you would go for the sake of it. Most shops are empty and the ones that are rented are mostly tour desks....More

We visited Port Douglas and had a look around at the marina, some markets outdoor with some nice stuff, but not much there. Inside there was a brewery which is probably ok, but lots of empty shops and an abandoned atmosphere. You probably just go...More

Naturally enough, being the marina, there are swags of tourists, booking cruises or heading for their tours to the Barrier Reef and other destinations. We visited the marina on 3 separate occasions. Once to have lunch at Hemingway's Brewery which was enjoyable, the second to...More

Went to Wednesday markets, very sad, don't bother. Wednesday Wings special at 4pm was sold out by 4:15 so missed out on them. The house beers were average at best. Perhaps they should concentrate on one thing at a time.

Went there for their midweek markets and was disappointed, only a handful of traders although the best was handmade pop up cards, my wife bought one to send to our daughter in law next month. Otherwise there's only your usual souvenirs shops and some restaurants.

Some nice cafes to sit at and view the water front whilst waiting for tours to depart. Some of the staff at the restaurants/cafes looked bored and tired (before lunch time!) Better buys for souvenirs at Presenting Port Douglas, 51-57 Macrossan St Port Douglas.

The reef Marina was quiet a large establishment with many restaurants, bars and shops. A big selection for places to eat, we enjoyed a few drinks and a sunset cruise on a catamaran which sailed from this location. Quality surrounds with a real buzzy atmosphere....More

Port Douglas is a lovely coastal town in northern Australia. The Marina is clean, pretty and a peaceful place to visit. Walking along from the Marina itself there are wide open spaces and the town is delightful. Well worth spending a couple of days her...More

As far as Marina's go this place is quite good. All the big tourist boats leave from here and if you like wandering around looking at all the yachts etc it's quite good. But as far as shopping is concerned, stick to the main street....More
