The Brisbane River is perfect for adventure, leisure and recreation. Go kayaking, stand up paddleboarding or take a trip on a City Cat. Celebrate the Brisbane River at a Riverfire function or just have a picnic in the riverside parkland. The Kangaroo Point Cliffs are a great vantage point to see the Brisbane River, or go rock climbing or abseiling with Riverlife Adventure Centre. Try Story Bridge Adventure climb, cycle, rollerblade or go for a jog. Dance with the local aboriginal tribe, Mirrabooka or visit South Bank. However you look at it you can't visit Brisbane without experiencing the River. Then cruise out to Tangalooma Island Resort for a must do experience. Enjoy!

Very nice views. Great to see how it works with commuters. Nice walk plenty of tree cover, bike riders are tge ones to watch they go way to fast for kids walking. Must go on a ferry sometime.

Most of the best things in Brisbane are along the river. Take the City Cat ferry, a tour boat or your own boat. Very scenic and practical.

There is a River Cat service that runs along the city part of the river. You pay a fare and can hop on and off for a two hour period. However, if you don’t get off the boat you can do a complete tour of...More

Walking along its bank is enjoyable. You can also go on a cruise ship and it would be romantic at night. I regret, I was not able to do this activity. Another option is the free boat ride on the CityHoppers ferry along the river....More

2 hours, very worthwhile and a good chance to meet other travelers. Easy walk from most major hotels to dock side - food and staff well managed and attentive to passengers.

A busy(by Australian standards) commercial waterway. Many people live on the riversides of this river and quite a number of industries (light and small) exist on the waterway. I does not look particularly polluted. People seem to be fishing up and down the river.

Blue water is overrated. There is nothing like catching a city cat from one end of the serpent to the other on a stinking hot Brisbane day.
