Nice gallery with some interesting indigenous art. Surrounded by lovely gardens, including an oriental pagoda. There are supposed to be loads of decent cafes/restaurants but we struggled to find.

Connected to the Queensland Museum, the Art Gallery (museum) is full of simple but very interesting exhibits including native art in many forms. However it is the architecture that is dominant allowing the art works to shine. There is plenty of space on several floors...More

QAG + GOMA = QAGOMA Two galleries in one visit. Great options with free guided tours: Short 10 min and long 40 min tours are available. Great cafe and nice library. Absolutely must while in Brisbane. Free entrance.

I’ve been coming to QAG since I was little, all through schooling, on my days off in for a wander & now to my first in conversation book tour! It was such a great night! I’d never been to the Gallery after hours but the...More

After more than 25 years living in Brisbane we decided as it was rainy & overcast to check out our 'local' Art Gallery. There was an interesting range of art on display - currently focussed on Australian indigenous art - which was generally quite fascinating,...More

Thank you for your recent review of the Queensland Art Gallery, all day parking at the Cultural Precinct (QAG; SLQ; QPAC) is only $17, much cheaper that other South Bank options, we hope you visit again.

We visit at least once a year when in town and it’s always good. The parking seems to get more expensive each year (it’s now $17 a day, even if you get there at 3 like we did), but entry to most exhibits is free.

Good collection of Australian, Asian and European art, with changing exhibitions - well worth a visit. There is currently a small but exquisite exhibition of Japanese art - "A fleeting bloom - Japanese art from the collection" - which includes screens, ceramics and photos. This...More

Don't rush. Read what's where before you begin so you don't miss anything. Some exhibits are not that easy to find if you rush. Slow down it's a Gallery, not a race track.

This was a good way to spend a morning with variety. The only downside is they were doing construction inside when we were there so it was a bit noisy, but that won't last long

The art is wonderful as is the building. There was an Asian art exhibit. It is in the arts area of Brisbane overlooking the river.
