- ChloeShenzhen, China14 contributionsAmazing ExperienceMe and my dad went to Crocodylus park looking forward to see some dangerous reptiles. We took the river cruise and encountered several crocodiles. I even got to hold a crocodile egg. On the boat, The guide would tie a piece of chicken neck to a piece string. He would stick to string out of the boat when he saw a crocodile around. The crocodile would then leap out of the water and grab the meat. It is really exciting to see.So glad you enjoyed your visit, and thanks for letting us know. Crocodiles are an exciting animal, I think because people have been dealing with them throughout their evolution (crocodiles preying on people, and people preying on crocodiles), so I think our reaction to them is "hard-wired" within us, and is not really manufactured by TV. Regardless, it is clearly an experience you will remember and thanks to "Dad" for taking you, and to you for letting us know. We appreciate it.Written January 27, 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2020Written January 25, 2020
- Jeff27 contributionsOne not to be missed. On a hot and muggy afternoon we lobbed up at Crocodylus Park looking forward to seeing some crocs and learn more about them. We started with a cruise through the lagoon and was guided by John who admitted it was his fourth or fifth tour of the day but that didn’t dampen his enthusiasm. He made sure we spent enough time on the boat to see a number of crocs jump out of the water from many different vantage points so everyone got a good view. He was informative, friendly and knowledgeable. We then got off the boat and was going for a wander through the rest of the park when John asked if WE wanted to feed some crocs. Hell Yeah! We got to feed a couple of crocs and the John went and grabbed a small croc for us to hold. Awesome! What a thrill. The park was clean and it was obvious that the animals were well cared for. We learnt a lot. Thanks to John for going above and beyond. Thanks so much for the "heads up" and glad you enjoyed it. Also clearly a great heads up for John!Written January 3, 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2020Written January 2, 2020
- melissaandjasonBalaklava, Australia133 contributionsGreat place to visitWe visited here in 2 family groups and it was well worth it. The kids had a great time, with the feeding of the crocs, then the boat cruise which im sure never fails to impress, the guide on the cruise was extremely passionate about his job and it showed which made the cruise even better. The kids got to hold a baby croc and a snake. A great day had by all. Definitely a must do in DarwinThanks for your feedback. Sounds like you had a great visit!Written March 22, 2022This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 1, 2021

This was built in 1994 and is the largest crocodile and wildlife attraction in the Northern Territory. It has hundreds of crocodiles, a museum and a jumping croc cruise. It costs $44 for an adult and cheaper for concessions.

As big animal fans we dithered about visiting after reading some of the previous reviews, but thankfully we were pleasantly surprised by most of the park, aside from one poor bird in a very small cage at the entrance- if the poor thing is cooped up for a reason, they should add a sign. Lots of active crocs swimming, as well as meerkats, lions and many other animals. We didnt particularly like the breeding pens, but we did the jumping croc cruise, which was a fantastic add on, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable- she absolutely made the experience, and her stories allowed us to appreciate the park rescuing the crocs from causing havoc on cattle farms and the likes. We thought we'd maybe be there 2h but managed to pass 3h30, so allow plenty of time!

Me and my husband absolutely LOVED crocodylus. The river cruise was an amazing experience where we got to get up close to the crocs in the river on site. The staff were all so knowledgeable and it was amazing to learn so much about these creatures. 10/10 will definitely recommend!

We learnt so much from the guides. Even got to feed a big croc and to hold a year old croc too.
Went on a boat cruise within the complex to watch the crocs jumping.
Brilliant experience all in the one place. Fully recommend this place

This croc park was such a pleasant surprise. We didn’t expect to have so much to see and do. Its not just crocs, there are so many more animals and reptiles to look at, including monkeys, meerkats and beautiful white lions. Definitely worth a visit

A small park but a definite must do with the family. We have been to a lot of animal parks, but this one by far has been the best. We did an animal encounter and thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were friendly, park was clean, great cafe and easy parking.

I visited Crocodylus Park with my Dad and left very impressed.
The first thing we did was the crocodile feeding tour with Katie, who did an excellent job at answering everyone's questions and getting people involved. We were able to feed the crocodiles ourselves, which was a lot of fun. At the end of the tour we got to hold a baby crocodile, which was a great experience, especially for kids. There is also a jumping crocodile river cruise for a small additional fee.
After the tour, we had lunch. Me and my dad both had the crocodile burger, which tasted awesome, and was very reasonably priced.
After lunch, we explored the rest of the park. In addition to saltwater crocodiles, the park has lots of other reptiles including freshwater crocodiles, American alligators, pythons and iguanas. The park is also home to several monkey species, ostriches, emus, cassowaries, dingos, meerkats and much more. The park also runs important breeding programs for endangered species, which is great to see.
Each animal has a very informative display that gives you information on everything from their distribution to their diet.
The park also has two adult male lions. If you are lucky, you will hear them roar, which is quite impressive in person.
The park has a highly informative museum on crocodiles and other reptiles that is worth seeing. Prof. Graham Webb, the founder of the park, is a passionate and brilliant conservationist and this can clearly be seen through his park and the work that goes on there.
You are also able to buy crocodile meat at the park, which tastes great. It comes frozen, which is very convenient if you are flying interstate to get back home like me.
Overall, definitely a place you should visit if you are ever in Darwin.

Great place to visit. Lots of different animals to see not just crocodiles. Well worth the entry fee. We also did the jumping croc tour and although the cross weren't very active it was well explained how the cross behaviour changes in the dry season. Tyson was a great tour guide!

We used a taxi to get there and public transport to get back - some of the taxi's are quite large so it was easy to split the cost and a quicker trip - I think the park is located in Berrimah - the public bus we took on the way home, was longer but we werent in a hurry - took us into the centre of town. I agree with others that the extra cruise option is the one to take when you get there too - its makes the whole visit worth while.

And before you say it I thought this went through to yourselves privately.so wasn't done on purpose and I get its for questions and answers. Perhaps my question to you would be do you believe these enclosures are big enough?. I guess I managed a question and a review all in one. Well diserved though any decent human would agree I'm sure.

I'm going to be writing a reveiw. I sent an email also as I was totally gutted at the extreme small enclosures you have in place for all the animals. I see some of the managementa responses to others saying the same thing and you can never answer what's being said other then they r ok and getting close to nature has its challenges, the only challenge I sore was that they couldn't be any further away from nature and a lion sprays his sent to mark his territory not that he really has to worry about that . My apartment is bigger then there enclosure it was awfully sad to see and I can't believe the obvious many people that seem to enjoy there trio there. It's nothing more then a money making farm for what ever purposes you so choose, meat bags etc. How it's legal I don't know. Yes I agree when you say animals smell etc that's fine but really if you can hand on heart disagree that the crocs and lion enclosures r not to small then so be it, but even if you do support this I can almost garantee you can't think it is. I lasted as far as the Lions so 20 min into the zoo I had to leave. I didn't care for the over priced money you charge if it lines urs and who ever else's pockets then that's good for you. I love animals and would love to work with them and am studying animal phycology at uni, but never would I consider such a place. Hope you enjoyed your xmas with ur nice wages from a place that should be closed down. Those animals would be happier not existing.

Sorry it took has taken so long to see this chain of messages - but navigating around tripadvisor is a new challenge. I cannot understand how you could reach the conclusion that animals at Crocodylus Park are unhealthy ... they receive first class verterinary help whenever needed, the keepers are alert, dedicated and quick to pick up any anomally, and they provide enrichment as standard practice. That you prefer to see animals in the wild, or in open range zoo environments is understandable. But please keep in mind that living in the wild can be a very tough and dangerous business. This year, in tnhe north, perhaps thousands of crocodiles died a very unpleasant death, in the wild, as the late rains resulted in many wetlands drying up. Like sea turtles, perhaps 1 crocodile in 1000 survives from hatching to adulthood. We follow Australian guidelines for space allocation, and as explained with the lions, a grand new enclosure is under construction because we either had to hold two additional ones until this could be done, or euthanase them ... the real choices people have to make. As for the "money-making" angle, if you wish to believe that then go ahead. But in reality, I know of no individuals who put more personal resources into real global conservation problems and research than we do. So although I appreciate your values may be differenht than mine - your right - I sleep better than most at night, and so do the animals under our care.
