Family of 5 (3 teens) on a 4 day (3 night) top end safari

An extraordinary once in a lifetime experience made extra special by Leigh, Victoria and Sab. Thank you!

Booking was relatively easy and worked with Sab to create an itinerary that suited our family

Twin falls and Jim Jim - lovely walking. Twin was stupendously beautiful and no other walkers that day so could experience on own. Lovely swim up top

Koolpin - incredible drive to get there. wonderful walk right to the top. Swimming was beautiful. Again had the trail to ourselves so very fortunate

Visit to Injalak and Arnhem Land was terrific. A privilege to be there and see the rock art. Guide was good but you may also want to read up a little as well. Lunch on top sitting in the cave overlooking the landscape an all time highlight

The camp is excellent. Tents with comfy beds, fans, lights and sleep 2. Shower and toilet v close and are clean and well appointed
Highlight was the cooking and campfire experience which the whole family loved. Lamb stew cooked in the pot. Avo on toast. And eggs fried on the fire inside the bread. Simply delicious
Catered very well for gluten free

Leigh was a fantastic guide. Great with the kids. Very knowledgeable on all topics (culture, the park, geology, wildlife) which really helped. Also made a great lunch every day in dream locations.
Thank you

Cannot recommend Lords highly enough. We will come back someday for another top end trip

This trip exceeded our expectations and we felt privileged to experience areas that are not easily accessible and unbelievably beautiful! Our enthusiastic guide Leigh was truly exceptional in sharing his wide knowledge of the geology, fauna and indigenous artwork. He also went out of his way to ensure our travel experience was amazing.. This included helping us to catch Barramundi, cooking high quality food etc

We have just had the privileged to experience our great Australian Kakadu and Arnhemland with the our fabulous guide Dean. His love of the land and wealth of knowledge allowed us to really feel the spirit of our land. Always feeling safe and excited about each adventure. This private tour is the only way to experience this land. There was the time to listen learn experience and enjoy. My bucket list of catching a good size barramundi and Dean cooking it to perfection was a dream come true. My darling sister and brother in law laughed and enjoyed every minute with us!

In July 2022 we experienced 4 days with Lords Safari through Kakadu and Arnhem Land.

Leigh, our tour guide looked after the four of us, from the time we started our experience to the end. Leigh had great knowledge of the areas and kept us informed the whole time, which included local indigenous culture to give a better understanding of this beautiful part of the Northern Territory.

For anyone looking at exploring the vast area of Kakadu and Arnhem land region, I would recommend Lords Safari.

We were based in a private permanent tented site within the National Park, with our amenities close by. Leigh and Sab would start the day with billy tea on an open fire. All breakfast's and dinner's were cooked on an open fire. True outback experience.

Each day was planned so we could experience the most from our holiday. From trekking, swimming, admiring the wonderful bird life, seeing crocodiles in their natural habitat, aboriginal rock art or walking to higher grounds to appreciate the great expanses of Kakadu and Arnhem Land, it doesn't get any better. Once we arrived at our destination we would be supplied with a lovely lunch sitting amongst it all. Leigh you were a great Sherpa.

At night, around an open fire gave us time to relax and reflect on our day of exploring and hearing about the next day's adventures.

Thank you Leigh for looking after us so well and giving us a memorable experience for all Kakadu and Arnhem Land has to offer.

Having not travelled to the NT before, and travelling with friends who had been several times, we were keen to get out in the bush and experience the real 'Top End'. Our trip with Lords Safaris did not disappoint. Our tour guide Leigh was not only a cracking host, he was also a walking encyclopaedia: his knowledge of the geography, flora and fauna of Darwin, Kakadu and Arnhem Land is astounding. Leigh is a genuinely nice bloke, and could not have done any more for us: nothing was too hard, and our hikes to various landmarks and water holes were undertaken at a pace that suited all of us, with well timed rest stops to 'admire the view'.
We were fortunate to catch up with Sab at the Lords campsite at Mardugal, where we met and enjoyed the company of a family from Sydney. The accommodation was very comfortable, and the meals and service were excellent - as were Sab's tales of adventure across Kakadu.
Cahill's Crossing and the rock art at Injalak Hill (with an expert guide from Gumbalanya) were highlights, as were the myriad of stunningly picturesque waterholes we managed to visit that provided awesome recharge opportunities whilst hiking.
Overall, we had an incredible experience in a very special and unforgettable environment. If you want to experience the 'real top end', travel with Lords.

A fellow keen photographer and I were looking to visit the Northern Territory including Arnhem Land during the dry season and were attracted by Lords Safaris offering of a Photography Tour that included these locations over four days and three nights.

It was an expensive trip, but sadly disappointing when we discovered that no professional photographer was involved and our driver/guide made minimal effort to get us to appropriate sites near either sunrise or sunset, the best times for photography.

Equally frustrating was discovering that Arnhem Land was not going to happen because of COVID restrictions, although this could have been communicated before we arrived.

Since our complaints, Lords have amended their website to say that "Lords Safaris offers the best photography tour to capture the true wild heart of the Northern Territory. Please note this is NOT guided by a professional photographer – we simply take you to the best available areas for you to capture images."

They are still calling it a Photography Tour, but we did not even reach Bamarru Plains on the third night until right on sunset (too late to even set up tripods), while our guide was suggesting a drink on the deck before dinner!

"Best available areas" maybe, but certainly not at the right times for photography.

If you are seeking a comfortable upmarket private trip in Kakaku and surrounds, Lords may be fine, but if you are thinking photography, look elsewhere.

We spent five days/four nights camping in Kakadu and Katherine National Parks with Lord Safaris. Traveling were my wife and I and our two kids, ages 13 and 15.

It was an absolutely fantastic "expedition". We've been to all seven continents and the family all felt this was one of the best experiences we've had.

Sab has created a very comfortable permanent camp in Kakadu. It's a different style than the ultra-luxury tented camps we've visited in Africa, but it was very nice and we greatly enjoyed our stay there. The kids loved camping out. The food was simple, but quite delicious and ample. The kids (and mom and dad!) loved seeing the food cooked over an open fire. Sab and Lee did a great job accommodating my dietary restrictions, which isn't always easy, particularly in the Outback bush! I really appreciated their attention to detail in that regard.

Lee was a fantastic guide. He took us on some great hikes and had an incredible knowledge base of the history, flora, and fauna of the area. Kakadu and Katherine were both incredibly beautiful and we did some of the best hikes we've done anywhere in the world. The kids loved swimming and diving with Lee. He did a great job interacting with both our teenagers (not easy for anyone!) and my wife and me. He's definitely a professional.

Sab is a legend. He wasn't our guide on this trip, but he was in the camp with us for breakfast and dinner and it was extremely interesting to hear his stories from living and guiding in the area his whole life.

Katherine was a bit of a longer drive out of Darwin than Kakadu, and a bit more "touristy"/crowded, but in our opinion it was worth it if you have time. We loved the Katherine Gorge boat tour and kayaking. We didn't have time to visit the Arnhem lands this trip, but we'd definitely like to visit next time!

This was definitely the highlight of our trip.

There is no better way to see the very best of the Top End than with Lords. We toured West Arnhem Land and Kakadu with Sab and Dean, both of whom are great company and very attentive hosts. We could not have accessed the remote and wonder places we experienced without them. The entire trip was outstanding and I've returned home with wonderful memories and a deeper understanding of our beautiful land. Thank you!!

We (two Sydney families with four adults and three tweens) have just returned from the most amazing four-day/three-night tour with our guide Dean in Kakadu and Arnhem Land.

Crocs, wetland scenery, bird-watching, art, Aboriginal guides, didgeridoos, sunsets, swimming - this tour was everything we could have dreamed of and more.

Dean has ten years of experience in the area and is a wealth of knowledge about the land, the wildlife, and the people. He and Sab (whom we also had the pleasure of meeting) have strong connections with the Aboriginal community and are very highly regarded in the industry. Dean has a great sense of humour and was extremely patient with our kids. He is the best guide I have ever met. He also didn’t miss a beat with my blind husband, guiding him along some tricky paths with ease.

The private camp at Kakadu is outstanding. Shelly was like an old friend and looked after our every need while Dean cooked up delicious meals which we enjoyed in the dining tent. Speaking of tents, our accommodation at both sites was superb. Bamurru, our home for the final night, defies description and must be experienced to be believed. It is truly bucket list worthy.

I cannot recommend Lords Safaris highly enough. It was a big financial commitment for us, but it was worth every cent. Save yourself some valuable research time and book a tour with Lords right now. (You can thank me later!)

We have not long returned from a 5 day/4 night trip to Kakadu and Arnhemland. We stretched ourselves financially to do this part of our Australia trip, but we had a very personal and considerate guide in Sab who has a long personal history in the area and is very well connected including with local indigenous communities. We had 2 nights at his exclusive cap in Kakadu and 2 at Davidson's in Arnhemland with Sab guiding throughout. Pace was fairly gentle and unhurried, which worked well for us after a previous 10 days of very full on travelling. We saw some outstanding aboriginal rock art and had wonderful days in the boat in the wetlands of Arnhemland getting up close to the crocs and birdlife. A great experience.
