This is a serene, beautiful spot and the camping ground is the best in the area set on a stunning plain dotted with rocky outcrops. We'll be back.

The park has the unique Red Cabbage Palms, but it is hard going getting there. Better to walk from the campground if you are not confident. Camping facility is quite good, but can get busy during peak season. There is also the 4WD route of...More

We did the 4 Wheel Drive experience with AAT Kings tours out to the Palm Valley which takes in the Finke Gorge National Park. The scenery of this area would rival any in the world. It is not an easy access location and you need...More

As part of a 4WD group tour with AATKings, although the water level was very low, the water worn rocks of the river bed have their own beauty, along with the towering cliffs. We walked the section with the cycads, and also the lookout walk...More

Still in its natural state millions of years later. It's a bit of a challenge to get to, and only in a 4 wheel drive. But that makes it all the more secluded and private. We stayed the night and got to see even for...More

I came here with a bus tour to look at the Palm Valley. The road is very rough in but worth it to see these unique and rare palms. The surrounding red rock scenery punctuated with spiritual id gorgeous. Picnic facilities are excellent.

It took up just over an hour to get there from Alice Springs. Not sure about overnight camping but you definitely need AWD or 4WD!!
