As with other areas around Wagga Wagga, the shared pedestrian/bike paths are fabulous. We continued our ride from the Botanical Garden out to the Lake with only a couple of roads along the way. Flat paths and easy for cyclists and walkers alike.
Should have taken some snacks with us as little (nowhere) open on New Year’s Day to get a coffee or any food.
The path onwards took us directly back to the Big4 Caravan Park where we were staying which was just wonderful at the end of a long day out.

Nice friendly staff and atmosphere. Great food , meat was cooked to perfection , crisp and flavoursome salad. No long wait.
We have been doing a different Taven/Pub/Hotel each week for the past 6 weeks and will be going
definitely again to The Blamey.

Great lakeside path for walking, playground with a variety of equipment and plenty of speed boats whizzing by.
Lots of shady spots beneath the trees for a picnic.

Had a pork roast at the thomas blamey, web site had roast $16.00 but was $20.00, asked for thin sliced pork and came out thick and very tough not much taste, as it must have been cooked in water and gave me intergestion and no crackling as fat was like boiled, would much prefer a tasty $10.00 roast in Peter Street at the William farmer hotel as those chefs are amazing as never had a bad meal there, sorry but I won't be going back to the blamy in a hurry again

A beautiful and peaceful way to exercise, lots of friendly Wagga people to greet as you take in the views. .unfortunately, the walking track is on an angle, ie not completely flat so I find after frequent walks it pays to walk the opposite direction to balance the hip and knee wear!

Inland lake 400 km to Pacific ocean and 599 km to bass strait, even to have the lake full is a sight to see and it was about 3/4 full love the bird life and just seeing the fairly large body of water was lovel the breeze over the water in February was a delight loved it here the locals are lucky having this on their doorstep

Expansive lake about 10 minutes from the centre of town. Minimal bird life seen, and other than the size, not much else to appreciate (other tan some of the "look at me" homes over looking the lake. Perhaps this is a summer time location, but the billabong and surrounding parks near the National Glass Gallery, were much more enjoyable.

We stopped off at Lake Albert, to check it out, and ended up staying for hours. There are a couple of different playgrounds, depending on the age of your child. There are also bbq facilities, and picnic tables, and a toilet block. There is a boat ramp next to the playground, so a few people were putting in kayaks. You can walk around the whole lake, but it was a bit too far for us!
