On our first visit to Wagga we were keen to experience the cycling tracks and trails proudly advertised online. We were so disappointed at the lack of information and the disinterested response to our questions we received. The young lady who ‘helped’ us told us she only ‘walks’ on the tracks and that much of the area shown in green on the map was for mountain bikers only. This was far from true as we subsequently found out. Surely it is their responsibility to provide friendly and accurate information. It’s also been a long time since staff at a tourist information office have not asked about where we have travelled from or where we live!

One of the very few places open on New Year’s Day and not far from the cycle/pedestrian path. We called in on our first day there to pick up some local information.
The staff were excellent; informative and friendly and we set off with not only ideas of where to visit but, more importantly, where to get a lunch … it was now around 1:30pm!
The first place they suggested was, unfortunately, closing as we got there but YEAH, their second one was well and truly open and fabulous … Mr Lawrence.
Would definitely recommend going to the Visitor Centre when you arrive for their local information, etc.

A nice centre and we received friendly service. We came away with enough ideas to keep us busy while we are here. There is a good display of local produce here too.

Only a brief visit into the Visitor Centre to ask directions and what was on at The Festival of Wagga. Pleasant staff with the answers we needed. Immaculately laid out centre with plenty of brochures, information and (expensive) gifts.
Good place to visit and get your bearings.

The Visitors Centre is located in a park, right on the River bank, within a stones throw of the Art Galley, the National Glass Gallery, the Civic Centre and the the Library. The staff are very helpful and are equipped with information on the City, the Riverina, and other NSW locales .

Service was friendly and the lovely young lady was very knowledgeable on all the walking areas we asked about. Pointed us in the right direction for all day parking too - very helpful.

We attended the Visitor Information Centre to obtain information and maps. The staff were most helpful. The centre was clean and tidy and had an abundance of local produce to purchase if required.

Good information from an attentive staff and a very good range of merchandise and souvenirs. A very good location with ample parking. It's a very good place to start your exploration of the Riverina.

Hi Meguin, thanks for your enquiry, I would suggest hiring a car for the time you are visiting. All the major car hire companies are located in Wagga Wagga including Avis, Hertz, Budget, Thrifty and also Country Car Hire. You can get around Wagga Wagga on public transport including taxis and the Bus-about buses run every day except Sunday.
For information on what to see and do in Wagga Wagga and the towns around us. I would encourage you to visit our visitwagga website and download the Day Trips brochure. A visit to the National Art Gallery, the Thirsty Crow Brewery and our local wineries are a must. The towns of Junee, Coolamon and Lockhart are short drives away.
If we can be any further assistance, please feel free to contact us on 1300 100 122 or visit our website.
Kind regards
