I highly recommend taking a tour with 24 Hours in Sydney. We were on the Sydney Smells & Sights – A Smorgasbord for the Senses tour for 3 hours. Simon and John explained the history and contemporary issues of Newtown and Sydney while we walked the neighborhoods. We also had the opportunity to meet small shop owners. Simon and John also engaged in a fun conversation and were interested in knowing about us. Simon took several pictures of us at points of interest and shared them as a courtesy. It's obvious that they love what they do and have a lot of pride in their country and community. I wish I had more time to take another tour with them. I will certainly do so when I return to Sydney.

Really enjoyed the Skirting Sydney - Super Women of Sydney tour. I was amazed how little I knew about Sydney even though I live here! Lots of interesting gems. Simon was great and really knew his stuff. Highly recommend.

Took this tour last Saturday and found it highly informative and very entertaining. Having grown up in the area I learnt alot about the area I used to walk around but was not aware of all the criminal undertones from the day. Our guide was well informed and had lots of images top help create the atmosphere of the times.
Would definitely recommend the tour however you do walk alot and need to be able to do this.

We’ve just come back from “skirting around Sydney” with Simon. What a superb and fun day we had finding out more about our beautiful city, Sydney.

Simon was a fabulous tour guide that was entertaining and informative throughout the tour. He took us to places most folk never see and we bumped into locals that he introduced us to.

This was a comfortable and easy stroll around Sydney with pauses at points of interest where Simon, the natural storyteller, spoke of the amazing woman that formed this fabulous city.

I so want to do another tour with you soon Simon. Thank you so much.

This morning, my husband and I had the pleasure and honor to learn about the convict beginnings of Sydney. We met our guide, Simon, the descendant of a convict, at The Rocks to begin our tour. His knowledge comes from stories handed down in his family coupled with absolute knowledge of the subject matter. We followed Simon through alleys and doorways, more mesmerized , captivated and enthralled with every step. What sadness when it was over! The tour itself is excellent, but if you are lucky enough to get Simon as your guide, you hit the jackpot.

Our tour guide Simon was amazing and made the city’s history come to life! Simon’s personal family history intertwined with the cities made the tour so very memorable. He pointed out unique attributes that one could easily miss and shared his love for Sydney in a way that left us wanting to explore more and come back. And yes, we ended the tour with A view of the iconic Opera house.

Our witty host Mick showed us around Sydney Harbour, the rocks and onto the opera house; whilst all the time weaving in funny stories of his convict ancestors and his time growing up in Sydney. I learnt so much about convict and aboriginal history and had no idea William Bligh lived in Sydney. We finished off with a pint at the opera bar with a beautiful view and a chip stealing seagull. Loved it. Definitely recommend.

Hi 518bobbi Thank you for writing your review. The history of Sydney comes alive when presented by a person that can trace their Sydney ancestry back to the first fleet in1788. Mick will be absolutely delighted to see that you recognised his Sydney experiences with a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review. #yougottalovesydney

WE snagged the Go explorer pass back in November and tried to book this. IT was not until a couple of weeks ago they could confirm we were on the tour and we were very excited. How best to see a place than with a local guide, in our case Simon, and hear the history with his passion and love of Sydney. The rain was torrential. we were warned there would be no cancellations. No problem we are used to rain and the rain here is warm. Ten rolled around for our Conviction Walk and the other four had not shown up. Simon made one more call for them took our photo as proof of the tour starting here at 10 and off we went. Ten minutes later a couple from Denmark caught up with us.

Simons love of his topic and person connections to the Convicts is engaging. Our sparse knowledge of the convicts and settlement of the area was expanded and we enjoyed the general history and the personal stories. Our tour was during the unusual rain storm of Jan 7, 2020. We wore Rain coats with a cape over to keep our back packs dry and carried an umbrella but that was little defense at times from the rivers of water. Simon tired to lead us from shelter to shelter always checking to make sure we were okay with the conditions.

How wonderful the tour was we finished up in a spot where Simon could take a photo of us in our rain gear with the Sydney Opera House and the bridge behind us. We then went to go down to the opera house level but were met with a lake. But swinging around the post at the entrance to the walkway and climbing along the ledge of the fence we were able to get through. The last story was about 7 year old Simon and Queen Elizabeth. You will have to take the tour with Simon to hear that one. Last stop was the Opera Bar for a cider.

I would recommend this tour absolutely.
