Opocno castle, Czech Republic
Apr 2018 • Couples
It was built on the place of old gothic castle in 1560-1569 in Renaissance style as a representative seat of Czech noble family Trcka. From 1634 it had new owners - family Colloredo - who hold it till 40th years of 20th century. Till now there is a judgement trial between Czech state and former owners which is not solved till now.
In the castle you can see a very fine gallery of art and of weapons from 16-19th century.

Armour collection is a top one!
Apr 2018
Really worth to see this castle, small town and enjoy the views from the top. Armour collection and interiors are really big and you can spend whole day to watch it.

Beautiful!

My husband, parents and I went to see Zamek Opocno. Beautiful old Chateau! The grounds are well kept and plenty to see inside. You have to take a tour, no self guided here.

Very confusing, and rude guide
Aug 2016 • Couples
Don't get me wrong, the castle is beautiful and interesting. But if you are a foreigner you don't feel welcome. No tour in English, you get to go on a Chech tour and all you get is this tiny folder with a some info. Our guide couldn't care less, she was almost rude and she was telling us to keep to the group like we were criminals. All took photographs but suddenly a unpleasant woman started yelling at me "no photos" with an angry look. I saw no signs or info about photos, maybe it was OK in some rooms and some not? Very hard to know. It's a shame, the castle is nice and interesting but it gets really boring when you can't understand a word. It's like foreign tourists isn't welcome here.

Nice and romantic
Aug 2015 • Couples
This is one of the bigger castles in The Czech Republic. Worth for a tour with big variety of artifacts like weaponry. You can also take a walk in an close park with two lakes and a monastery, romantic!
