Lalitagiri is part of the "diamond triangle" - the three tourist sites of Udayagiri, Ratnagiri and Lalitgiri, 10-20 KMs from each other and about 90 KM from Bhubaneshwar (~2 hours, near Jajpur). It's not very popular yet, but the government seems to be working on...More

If you have no time you can skip this one...only ruins off symetrical basement of monasteries. Even the mahastupa is poor regard to the one of udyagiri for example. .no outside statues only in a poor museum...you can avoid...

Curved Chaitya is something that must not be missed. You need one full day for the 3 sites - Udayagiri, Ratnagiri and Lalitagiri. Also visit the museum in Lalitagiri. You need to climb and walk a bit. Avoid visiting this attraction bet 11.30 to 2.30...More

The whole site is under a spree of construction with new paths and a brand new museum being constructed. This is good, because the old museum has some wonderful pieces of sculpture from the time when this was a great monastery, as important as nalanda....More

I don't think there is any public transportation to this place. You need to book a car.
