Definitely worth a visit if exploring the Hardangerfiord. There is a climb up to the waterfall from the car park and there are very good photo opportunities at the waterfall. It is possible to access the back of the waterfall during the visit.

The parking here is a bit intense when it is busy and people wander out behind you so be careful. It has all the necessary facilities such as bathrooms and information. The path leading up to the waterfall is nice and allows you to view...More

Steindalsfossen is 46 metres high and from the parking lot there is a path that leads you up to the waterfall and where you can walk dry behind the massive water. Watch out for the "wild" sheep.

90min away from Bergen and 5min from Norheimsund, this is a very beautiful little waterfall, which can get very strong after rain. The highlight of this waterfall is not its hight or form, its that you can go behind it, touch it. This walk was...More

We love this Norway highest waterfall (50 meters) as it offers unique experience to walk behind the water! It is easy to get here by car and parking space is generous. We heard the greatest water volume is in May and June, but we enjoy...More

You have a great chance to stay under a watterfall, close enough to feel its power. Then you can continue and have a nice view of it from a nice place above. Available easily for all, elderly people or children. Parking free.

We are staying in Oystese on the Hardangerfjord and spent the day in that region. The Steindalsfossen was a 12 minute drive and well worth the visit. The waterfall is not huge but the water current is quite powerful and impressive. The small river just...More

Within reasonable walking distance of Norheimsund or use the large car park before walking up to the falls. Unlike most waterfalls you can get close to the water, walking behind it as it cascades from an overhanging ledge.

The waterfall is easily accessible from the roadside and there are excellent facilities there. Nice opportunity to stretch your legs.
