Beautiful mossy glade with huge boulders. Alongside a river and through farmland. The walk out was a tough 17min up a steady slope, and the rest was pretty easy.

A unique experience, well worth the 'off the beaten track' to get there. It's a lovely walk across private farmland then down a long, steepish hill with a beautiful outlook to the Rangitiki river and white cliffs. The sun was low when we went which...More

We did this walk across private Rangitikei farm land on a sunny autumn day. We checked out a site website beforehand and opted for the short trek as we only had the afternoon. We took water bottles, snacks in a small day pack, wore sturdy...More

This walk across farmland and down a rather large hill, offered stunning views of the Rangitikei river. The boulders were interesting to see and some awesome photo opportunities for a mere $5 pp fee. We were somewhat unprepared for the trek back up the hill!...More

Beautiful Rangitikei scenic walk and at the end a rare geological wonderland. Worth the trip. Take a picnic and watch the trout swimming. Swim in the Rangitikei river yourself!

This place was even more beautiful than I had imagined and definitely worth the trip! After arriving at the car park and paying the $5 fee at the honesty box, it is a 1.8km walk across some lovely farmland with the most spectacular views of...More

The two other reviews of this are exactly right about how great this place is to visit. You need to have at least an hour and half time free to do this. Just be aware that you have to turn left half way down Otara...More

If you are travelling South on SH 1 just past Mangaweka and see some amazing white cliffs on your left hand side, take the time to drive off the beaten track for about 30 minutes, it is well worth it. This was an unexpected gem...More

This hidden treasure is the best $5.00 pp you can spend on viewing a natural wonder. The drive to the car park is over a narrow gravel road but that in itself allows beautiful views of awesome countryside. Once at the car park it is...More
