As the title says.A wonderful place to visit when you travel to Manchester. Apart from the high quantity of arms, devices, uniforms and artifacts used in wars where the British army was involved there are also many videos projected on the walls of the museum.
Staying at the local hotel we decided to take a look around and came across this War Museum.
We were well impressed of how informative this establishment was with all it's photos, films, costumes, memrobillias, etc of both the World Wars.

Not a stuffy old museum, surprisingly enjoyable for all ages. Visited with grandparents and my two 8yr old children. We all found the exhibits and war stories very interesting. My children particularly enjoyed trying on the army clothes and gun belts. The staff were very...More

Visited the museum early March and while it's a striking building the content does not provide what I thought an immersive museum is experience should be.
The entrance is very accessible and there is a shop and a cafe which serves cakes and soup/snacks.

We took our year 5 and 6 children here for the day. We weren’t disappointed, it is packed full of information and the volunteers were very passionate.
There were also veterans to talk to which our children loved.
The children did the tv channel challenge...More
Set in Salford Quays the IWM North is a modern museum exhibiting different aspects and effects of war. During our visit the theme was "Less we Forget", showing exhibits and films of WW1. The museum was well laid out and provided a thought provoking experience...More
