Overview

The world's northernmost zoo, where you can experience the big predators of the arctic: Brown bear, lynx, wolf and wolverine. There's also moose, red deer, reindeer, musk ox and polar fox. During the summer we also have domesticated animals and birds, and attractions like zip lines, boulder park, barbeque areas and fishing spots. There's also a cafe, kiosk and gift shop. Adapted for the disabled. Polar Zoo is open all year.

The park is set in a really beautiful environment and it's so great to see that the animals have plenty of space (even though that means you might not get to see some of them). However, the wolf experience was a one-in-a-lifetime experience! So amazing,...More

Visited the Polar Park through an excursion booked with Fred Olsen during a cruise to the Norwegian Arctic. Very memorable experience walking through a 'Winter Wonderland' during heavy snow showers. Got to view most of the animals but, sadly, the wolves refused to play which,...More

The sole purpose of this visit was for the wolves. We were staying in Tromso, so was fully aware of the 3 hour bus ride there and then another 3 hours to get back. The whole day was a 9 hour adventure. I researched all...More

Initially we were prepared to be disappointed by this visit, especially after reading the recent reviews and the fact our wolf kiss visit had been cancelled 3 weeks prior to our trip. This wolf kiss was the main reason why we came all the way from the...More

3 hours journey each way from Tromso just to be able to see the lynx, wolves, one reindeer and a couple of musk. The restaurant they have is really sad, just with a selection of a couple of muffins and one or two bagels. They...More

There were 3 lynxes, 4 wolves, 2 ordinary deer (not reindeer), 2 moose/elk, that was all the animals. They don’t have Foxes or wolverines any more. No Reindeer, bears were hibernating. No birds. We drove an hour to the park and spent NOK520, very disappointed.

We came by public bus from Senja (via Bardufoss) and then took a bus back to Tromso. It is 3 hours away from Tromso one way. We had our luggage and arranged for pick-up both ways from the bus stop to the polar park. Communication...More

Wow, what a place, we did the wolf experience and it was superb, these are still wild animals but very inquisitive, a must if you go there, It was a bit hilly, like most of Norway! And it was very picturesque as it was covered...More

As mentioned in previous posts, the polar park is quite difficult to get to if you don't have your own car. The park itself is unlikely your typical "zoo" with very large enclosures and the animals seemed well looked after and happy. The park offered...More
