Next to mountains, woods and river. Excellent to visit at East Christians festivals. Biking and kayaking possibilities in vicinity.

Just like it's big brother Cozia monastery, this is a good place for relaxation near Calimanesti. Also you can walk to it near the water dam and get beautiful pictures of the area. If you sleep over in Calimanesti worth visiting it. PS: Also in...More

Beautiful monastery 30 minutes walking or 5 minutes by car from cozia monastery, the site is in a wonderful gorge along the olt river

From Caciulata just 30 minutes walk along Olt river and you can discover one beautiful place where the monks build a small heaven. It is a good example for all people which cannot see the benefits of "working and living together as a community".

I was happy to see that the cook, Father Dionisios, was still there, but I realized our relationship changed. He was distant..after all these years..I thought I would find a lost friend, but I was dissapointed.

The old church of the monastery is beautiful and the little rooms in the stone are interesting. The new church building has a church at the ground floor and another at the 1st floor.
