The Shiva temple at Baijnath is a short drive east from Palampur, and a must visit if you are in the area. The complex is surprisingly well maintained, and draws tourists and the pious in equal measure.

This is not a relic, but an active temple, with a dramatic Himalayan mountain backdrop and wonderful stone carvings. A must-see on your visit to the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh
