Overview

Jarjeer can be found in the Berber village of Oumnass just 24 kms south of Marrakech in the foothills of the High Atlas. We are a sanctuary and home to many animals. Our team of magical donkeys are friendly and always very happy to see visitors. The local people are friendly and welcoming. The community is very close with tight family ties and the culture remains traditional. All our muleteers live in the village. Transport can be arranged. Please contact us by email. For the adventurous, a bus journey is an excellent idea. The number 45 bus to Amizmiz leaves the bus station opposite the Koutoubia Mosque. Local people in the Medina will be happy to direct you. The journey takes approximately 30 mins and costs just 6 dms per head, ask to dismount at Oumnass. If you telephone or email in advance we will meet you at the bus stop in Oumnass or you will see the sign to Jarjeer as leave the bus. Note: Here at Jarjeer our donkeys provide therapeutic riding for disabled children.

Love visiting this place when I'm in Marrakech. Susan, Charles and the whole team give you back your faith in humanity. As well as the amazing work they are doing, and watching these once overworked animals wandering free in the grounds, the views are outstanding.

If you contact Susan on the FB page I'm sure she'll come and get you! She collected us from the Djeem El Final (big market place) by the carriages.
