A Javanese style Catholic church in a Hindu temple setting. Remarkable eclectic mixture. Represent the Javanese cultural tolerance at its based. Sacred and quiet at midnight. Great for meditating and pilgrimage. Don't forget the spring water too.

Its really far from Yogyakarta, I went there by motorcycle. But once i got there, its really good. I am a moslem but i enjoy spiritual place like church or temple. First you need to dress polite to respect the place and the people. When...More

Ive been here a few times, for weddings and also just to visit. It's not really a number one tourist destination in Yogya, maybe class 3, but I enjoy it. It offers a fascinating insight into the cross-spiritualism of Java, where a Catholic person can...More

Catholic architecture wasn't the first thing I was expecting in Yogyakarta. But this church is beautiful. It is a wonderful example of the Catholic Church's ancient tradition of inculturation: accepting what is beautiful in local cultures while preserving the essentials of Christian doctrine. The church...More

This church is only 10 mins from my house so I come here quite often, not to attend mass tho. Most of the time I would just talk to locals and visitors (even in normal weekdays there would be significant visitors), and listen to their...More

The place is a bit far from the beaten path, but the church is worth a visit. As many have noted, it is a Roman Catholic church designed with Javanese architecture and design sensibilities. It even features statues of Jesus and Mary as interpreted using...More

A Christian church complex offering the faithful a huge church, stations of the cross and a holy site. Well maintained and within a short drive from Jogja. Many people collect the famous restorative waters here and send home across Indonesia.

Yea its outside the city. 45mins drive or ride a motobike. There's a gojek or online transportation but i guess it would be uneasy to order a transport from there. Its a lot from the city but not from the church to the city... More
