After a spot of shopping we had a wander along the River Lea in Ware. The river originates a few hundred metres from where I use to live in Luton and continues its trail for over 40 miles to the River Thames in the capital....More

River Lea at the Hertfordshire end is absolutely beautiful with plenty of good walks along the tow path. Lovely at every season, with different things to see. We have a narrow boat so it is also great for trips along the actual river.

The Lea is a beautiful river that sends it's way through Hertfordshire, my home county. I like it in the Spring, ducks and ducklings, Swans and cygnets and frog spawn and tadpoles.

There is easy access from several points on or near to the main street in Ware. A quiet stroll, punctuated by narrow boats and other water craft, and numerous water fowl to add interest. Charming small houses and rooms overhanging the river add character to...More

River and canal walks are often an easy stroll being flat. This area of the Lea can get quite busy close to the town though so watch out for bikes!
