Found this trip in one of those commercial catalogues with suggestions on what to do in Hardanger. A good half of that stuff is usually overrated. Not this. Not Husedalen. It’s actually as beautiful as every article online says (had to google a bit). It’s more than worth the effort. Go and don’t forget your camera! Tip: Gore-Tex shoes with good grip. Go early in the day so the sun still shines on the last waterfall when you reach it.

Exciting walking tour up the Valley. You pass four very huge waterfalls with open lakes in between. Some nice Picknick places on the way. Start at Kinsarvik parking place or drive up to the power station and start here. This must be some of the largest waterfalls of Norway.

For us it was a great hike with some breathtaking sceneries on our way up to the top. You also have the opportunity to get to know some history about the region as you walk along the trail. Totally worth it and would revisit.

A great walk, uphill. Beautiful scenery, and very nice waterfalls. We did only the first 2 as we were 2 families with total of 7 kids, so they didn't want to see all 4. But even that was sufficient and a very successful day. Keep in mind doing all the waterfalls can take 4-5 hrs at least (depending on your pace). Parking is problematic, as you need to park at least 1KM from the starting point of the trail.

This walk from Kinsarvik is one of the nicest walks I have ever done. Following the river up for just under 5 miles and a height gain of 660m you walk through the forest and see 4 fantastic waterfalls a beautiful river and a stunning view back down the valley to the fjord at the bottom. A few other walkers up to the second falls, which are probably the best, then less as you climb higher. Overall, to see the top falls will take around 5 hrs round trip from the car park at the start of the walk. Quite a bit of info on line which is worth reading before you go. Quite tough, recommend decent walking shoes or boots.
