I went to Bishnupur Museum. The museum houses a number of collections like terracotta, textile, folk art, antiques and musical instruments. But beyond these collections is a colossal set of manuscripts. It is great place to go.

It's a commendable effort for a small place like Bishnupur. While the Terracotta collection in the main hall are routine antiques, really liked the effort put in for preserving the legacy of a local family of classical musicians including old recordings. Wish other places in...More

I had spent just about half an hour with my family inside this building, known as Bishnupur Museum. Some old terracotta works, some local artefacts etc and that's about it. I preferred visiting the various temples around Bishnupur and see the magnificent terracotta works,on site.

Just a few collection of local items of Bishnupur. This place is small with few limited collections. The terracotta collections are the only things worth as a great collection here.

One who want to know about Bishnupuri 'Gharana' (ঘরানা) (Culture), must have to visit this museum. It is only 3 k.m. away from Bishnupur Bus Terminus.

For some inexplicable reason the museum remained closed and out of bounds to the tourists prior to the Pujas this year when we visited Bishnupur. Rather keen on visiting the place, we tried to find out from the local people as well as the tourist...More

I'm a Japanese living in Delhi. Visited here with a friend from Kolkata. The only museum in Bishnupur when I visited. Tiny one with limited number of items. Not significant nor interesting to me. Just took a few minutes to look through here. Sorry.
